SuperOps just hit me with a 60% increase, effective December. Anyone else get this?

To all the vendors reading this thread. STOP WITH THE MINIMUMS!

Nothing was worse when starting out and trying to grow and hitting the constant minimums each vendor was imposing.

Super Ops trying to institute a 150 minimum is hilarious. They gotta learn their audience.

I just jumped to Gorelo. My renewal was up in December and I had no idea it was going to be a price hike. Add it to the pile of why I switched.

How is Gorelo working for you so far?
We are with Atera and looking for options.

I just signed up last week and I'm already about a month ahead of my deployment schedule. It's pulling my M365 users from CIPP. I don't have to pay an additional $15 per month per tech just to see multiple Splashtop monitors anymore. I don't have to pay additional for Splashtop Business for ad-hoc computer connections anymore. They're building an internal MCP for integration with Claude. The project system is fantastic. Scripting is easy. Everything is laid out where things make sense and the price is right for a small pay-per-tech shop, especially with the deep discount for paying yearly.

I did a demo with them maybe 6 months ago and it looked promising.

It really is, its come even further.

The remote control open has gone v2 beta, so you won't even need a local client to do that soon as it's All in the browser.

API is flying ahead

If I could point to one thing, this was the most important for me. The Splashtop remote service was frequently stopped on my clients' computers. I'd have to ask them to sit there on the phone while I fumbled through the pages of services in their profile and scroll down because the pages don't even fit to the screen size to find it and start it. I put in a request and was met with a shrug.

The new remote desktop app in Gorelo is buttery smooth. Click the connect button and you're in. Click the All Windows button and they're either neatly side by side or previews of all three windows where you can click on the right one the first time instead of cycling through them with the other guys, again making the client wait while you find the right screen.

Love to hear that.
Thank you for sharing.

Solid product i moved from SO.. SO is trash half baked software that works sometimes....

How do you deal with not having a remote desktop tool built in? That is a big one for us and would seriously increase our costs.

6

u/pocketjacks MSP - US 2d ago

I don't understand the question. There's a remote desktop tool built into Gorelo and it even works natively on mobile.

2

u/Remarkable_Cook_5100 2d ago

Interesting, it is not listed under the features on their website.

Does support work from home for client access?

3

u/pocketjacks MSP - US 2d ago

It doesn't today, but it's listed as in-progress on their roadmap. I've only been with them for a couple weeks and they've already posted two new feature set announces on their Discord in that time. The mobile tools are apparently brand new, but the remote desktop works like butter on my Z Fold 8.

u/mikelgorelo 2d ago

Woops! Website has now been updated to show our remote desktop feature. The sales/marketing side of Gorelo doesn’t get much attention… product is the fun part haha!

u/BobRepairSvc1945 2d ago

What remote tool do you offer? Or was it built in house?

6

u/mikelgorelo 2d ago

Built in house :)

If they try this with us, we'll be out of there so fast.

The product is fine(ish), but in no way would we consider paying near double for it.

u/mattmbit 2d ago

No comments from them in either thread is super telling.

u/pocketjacks MSP - US 2d ago

As is the warning that using their name is verboten.

Generally one of two things are happening. They are trying to increase revenue sharply so they can get another series of funding or trying to make things look good for a buy out.

It's 2026 and they are backed by a private venture company. None of this is surprising.

I knew I wasn't staying long when they RIF'd what appeared to be the entire onshore presence.

3

u/mattmbit 1d ago

Yah and it sucks. We need more cheaper options in our space.

3

u/pocketjacks MSP - US 1d ago

Agreed, but Gorelo is cheaper than the pre-hike price at the other guy and you can start with only one technician. I was originally shopping Halo, but the minimum is what kept me from pulling the trigger.

They've been scumbags from the start.

You are reading this exactly right. At 46 endpoints you still have leverage and an exit. At 1,000 you have neither, and they know it.

Before you negotiate or shop, export everything you built while you still can. Policies, patch rules, automation, ticket workflows, billing logic, device groups, all of it, with screenshots where an export does not exist. That documentation is what turns a painful migration into a checklist, and it is also what lets you get real quotes from Ninja or anyone else instead of guesses.

Then push back in writing and ask for two simple things. Keep the current rate through your actual renewal, not December on six weeks notice, and any future increase capped or tied to your signed term. If they will not put that in writing, that tells you what the next increase will look like.

Do not sign a longer term just to dodge this one increase unless the rate lock is in that term. At your size the platform should be earning your business every year, not a minimum spend with a nicer name.

There is no renewal, in a month-to-month contract. So we are essentially at their mercy for the increase until we switch.

Why does this read like AI?

We annual committed at the start of the month, before all this price talk, sounds like it was the right call.

u/obviouslybait 2d ago

now I wish I did.

u/empty-teapot 1d ago

classic MSP tool squeeze, 60% is brutal. if you're mid-contract push back hard for a phased increase or a reduced tier lock-in before December, and set a calendar reminder 45 days before renewal so you control the exit window next time. Alternatives doing similar PSA/RMM work worth demoing are Syncro and NinjaRMM depending on your stack size. Price hikes like this had me audit my whole toolset, Bocada Cloud on the backup reporting side is one of the few I kept.

1

u/obviouslybait 1d ago

I've engaged PAX8 on this.

I'm moving to per tech licensing at a lower cost, in Canadian Dollars.

Getting rid of MonicaAI and MDM, two features I currently don't use.

I don't have the capacity to switch, but long term would look at Halo+Ninja when I can afford it and it makes sense for the business.

Action1 is free under 100 endpoints. I’m not as familiar with open source ticketing systems but I know they’re out there until you’re more established

Drop them as fast as possible. That kind of bullshit is unacceptable. As much as it pains me to say, the new ConnectWise platform is very competitively priced.

Many MSP’s have minimums.

All MSP’s should have minimums. 🤷‍♂️

2

u/sctechsystems 2d ago

A startup MSP or small MSP cannot have minimums it doesnt work. You cant turn away work as a new growing MSP because a client may only have 2 computers and your minimum is 5. When youve grown a bit, and have steady ££££ in the bank, then yeah start on minimums with new clients going forwards, but for for starting out it doesnt work... not all new MSP can pick up a 150 seat client straight off the bat.

u/dumpsterfyr I’m your Huckleberry. 1d ago

I started a new one in 2025 with a 10 user minimum. Had no issues. 🤷‍♂️

2

u/sctechsystems 1d ago

Good for you, doesnt mean it works for everyone.

The ones that have to work for a living are the ones who think all money is good money.
