“People were holding onto each other, to debris, just treading and trying to stay above water before being rescued,” Lt. Santiago Tamburini, who is with the United States Coast Guard (USCG), said.
A boat capsized off the Baja California coast, leaving several people missing and others with shark attack injuries.
Sixteen individuals have been rescued since the incident occurred on Friday, Oct. 16, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) said in a statement obtained by the Associated Press.
The survivors were given life-saving aid while being transported to San Diego. Several of the survivors “were suffering from severe injuries consistent with shark bites” the agency said.
Eleven people are still believed to be missing, per the USCG.

I don’t foresee a way the snake finishes this meal in one piece but I’ve been wrong about things before. I took this photo today next to a pond at my work with a ton of wildlife in it…snakes, fish(including HUGE carp like 3 feet long), turtles, frogs, etc

The Squirrel King has returned!
We had an incredibly rare wildlife phenomenon at our clinic for a second time. A Good Samaritan brought us a group of young squirrels who were discovered to be stuck together by their tails, just like a “Rat King.” A Rat King, a natural phenomenon where young rats’ tails are wrapped in fiber in the nest and then become tangled together, has been noted as far back as medieval times. Discovery of a Rat King was thought to be a very bad omen.
The first time we ever saw a Squirrel King was back in 2010, when Dr. Lennox treated a group of 4 young squirrels with their tails stuck together. This was the year of a very bad blizzard in Indianapolis and the Colt’s losing the Superbowl. Bad Omen? You decide!
