PP and Carney both represent capital. The sad truth is they both have basically the same answer, which is a combination of doing nothing or bailing out businesses with no or very very few strings and no public ownership.

Neo-liberals will always use perceived disfunction (often caused by their own intentional underfunding) of public services to argue for privatization, but actual and often extreme disfunction of private companies is never used to argue for making them public. Avi Lewis is using their own arguments against them and they don’t have a comeback.

The problem with the NDP and Stelco is they want it nationalized but they are actively against what the steel they produce is used for. Like the most likely place for that steel to end up is pipelines or Defence manufacturing. Those are both things Lewis is against

Also, Avi Lewis isn’t really against Defense manufacturing, he wants that worker centred and public options for that too. Avi Lewis is against the Defense manufacturing all being Military Industrial Complex privatized, essentially imitating what the USA does with its arms industry, what got us into hot water recently with Trump’s family buying a no longer Canadian drone manufacturer out from under the Liberal’s and PM’s own official press release noses.
