Big fan of Wings beatboxing and this was fucking cool

u/eugoogilizer 19h ago
Same, Wing has become one of the best ever beatboxers and I had no clue they used his stuff for dance competitions!

Kind of cool:
Both the music and the dancer are humans imitating machines.
9
u/ItsEntsy 11h ago
Yea it would be nice if OP mentioned that the music for the video was performed by another crazy feat of human expression.

I'm just curious how pretending to be a robot is "human expression"

The robot man is expressing everything he knows about human movement
4
u/chupacadabradoo 19h ago
When robots become indistinguishable from humans, what will it look like to do the robot dance?
5
u/Unfettered1977 19h ago
Caravaggio and van Gogh knew nothing about booom booom nnnnnnn bop booom booom nnnnnNnn bop robot man
3
u/Tzarkir 13h ago
I mean, your actions are also human expression and I'm sure you aren't another Caravaggio. If anything, the most human expression is a imperfect product made by flawed people. That's the most human thing of them all. Even those two, Caravaggio was an asshole and Van Gogh a deeply troubled man with mental issues. Dude likes his boom bop nnnn, he's having fun expressing it before his limited time runs out. It's alright.

it was entirely intended to induce a chuckle, dear friend, see my comment below. Not a serious statement on the merits of one form of expression over another, nor an endorsement of the person I was replying to lol. It was kinda meant to say what you're saying in a funny way. It's alright.

“Me no understand thing, thing must be bad” caveman ass thought processes

u/Unfettered1977 7h ago edited 5h ago
I enjoyed it quite a bit actually, Bob lol. "Man make joke, man must not appreciate thing" is kinda caveman ass thinking tbh ;)
edit: so this isn't just me teasing you, here's one of my fave dance routines with a similar vibe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2FTwbkbmcc
edit 2: bob got my joke, don't downvote them lol

Does the fact that OP is a bot answer your question? 700k karma on a 2 year old account and not a single reply on its own post is enough proof for me to block it

This is really impressive but what is that title? Any photo or image of any human ever is "pure human expression" because it's of a fucking human.

I've learned that you should never self gloss your post because then everyone will crush it. If this were titled "dork sucks at dancing" he would be a god.

u/Altruistic_Tie_7850 9h ago
Kang Do-gyun aka Dokyun. I was looking as well someone posted the original video, I got it from that.

Dokyun is an incredible dancer. Thanks for sharing.
(OP, next time please mention the performer's name)

The irony that the music and dance are both made by humans copying robots is pretty funny given the title. Human expression definitely. Source is clankers.

Ironic that we, as humans, have spent the last couple of decades trying to program robots to have more human movement, but now humans dancing with robotic movements is more impressive...

Curious how the music for these dances get created. Does the dancer find the music first, and then choreograph their dance around the perfect score? Or does the music get tailored to the dancer’s liking?
The heartbeat thing was especially interesting. Amazing the way he manipulates his body.
3
u/eugoogilizer 19h ago
In this case the dancer definitely found the music and choreographed his dance to the song. The song is called Dopamine and it’s done by the world famous beatboxer Wing 😎

I thought this was gonna be a video about the amazing beatboxing (wing - dopamine).
Seriously guys watch that 👆🏻

Unfortunate that he wore black against a black background. Hides a lot of detail and articulation.

This was beautiful. However, while whacking this i had Raygun in the back of my thoughts. That lady ruined dancing for me forever.

I’m not sure I understand why the audience reaction chooses the times they do to cheer or outwardly hit a “wow/whoa!”. It doesn’t match what he’s doing at all.

Looks more like robotic expression to me..
Man it makes my teeth itch when people do that thing where you can tell that they can tell (or think) that whatever they're doing is making them look super cool.. You see it at the slow part when he's hitting his wiggle fingers back and forth.

Most people will never know a level of focus and dedication. I don't mean to sound resentful of our species but sincerely I don't think the majority of us experience life this specifically.

Nah hes right. We dont need to sensationalizing everything. "Guy doing cool dance" would have been way more than adequate for this.

u/Glittering-Bake-2589 13h ago
Its dance. Of course its human expression. Just like any type of art. I didn’t say anything about the dudes ability
It’s like saying this oak tree is pure wood.
It’s a bot title for a bot post

How are made up moves, practiced over years, and distilled down to a routine this person probably knows forward and backwards "pure human expression?"
9
u/loppyrunner 19h ago
It’s not human expression if you practice first? This is really bad news for every art form ever! Gotta rethink all of it now
-1
u/dirtyasseating 19h ago
"Pure" like unmixed, unchanged, unaltered, natural.
0
u/loppyrunner 19h ago
So it’s not “pure” human expression if you practice first… definitely negates my whole thing doesn’t it? Egg on my face. Clearly, this dancer who practiced his routine before performing it is not pure. My bad
0
u/dirtyasseating 19h ago
You must be one of them Nestlé executives selling heavy processed water in plastic bottles as the most natural thing...SMH
2
u/loppyrunner 19h ago
This is fun! We’re having fun! Just gotta run my enjoyment of cool shit I see on the internet through this new filter of “did the person doing this cool thing ever dare to practice the thing before showing people?” Gonna be tough, cause I’m a big reader but I found out recently books go through a “rough draft” phase and are edited before publishing. Can you believe that? Obviously not “pure, unaltered, unmixed or unchanged”! Can’t even fathom how I’ll enjoy music now, never mind sports, photography, paintings... No way all those people didn’t practice. They’re not pure!!!
