This is still impressive! The moustache is mandatory.

u/Wittyngritty 9h ago
/s is for people who have a hard time picking up on tone over text. I could say you're a dumbass and you'd have no idea if I'm serious or /j

u/Adamiak 9h ago
brother couldn't pick up on the sarcasm from the video which includes BOTH visuals AND audio, so yeah, I'd say it's fair to assume he can't pick it up from text either

So am I serious or /j

Dude, when he breathed out during that last press... I could already see myself passing the f*** out and hitting the floor face first.
Me, mumbling on the floor:
"Ss seay s tht..."

You can see it looks almost like his back knee buckled a little bit at the end lol, I imagine he was seeing spots after bearing down that hard

The moustache is actually optional but the bilateral orchiectomy is not.

My old southern boss used to say things like that when he would lift something heavy, like “I’m bout to drop a nut lifting this thing,” or “that thing is heavy as ten motherfuckers!”

I would go to a show where he does this in reverse. From bent to straight please.

u/Mental_Newspaper3812 8h ago
I used to order bent steel rebar for concrete jobs. It’s much easier than this guy makes it seem.

Lesson here is, if you practice something specific, you usually get good at it.
If you try something for the first time, you might struggle with the said skill.

Seriously, how old is this guy? With the beard he looks like 45, without he might be 20 years younger. Curse you handlebar.

I haven’t been working out specifically to bend steel and now I feel like a fucking idiot

Surely I was not the only one that expected to see the cameraman pan out to a big pile of bent rods as the punch line?

We gotta retire mustaches again. They were mostly eradicated for like 30 years and the world was a better place.

Aesthetics vs bending steel.
I … I honestly am not sure if either is more practical.

I used to go to a bar with one of these guys as a regular, he would do free shows fairly often.

Look at these muscles, man. 285 pounds of muscle. You ever seen this much muscle on a man? https://youtu.be/o_LxDKDOIpM

The way he is built is what I have always pictured as what a man would look like at peak physical strength. Or at least what I think the best looking one is.

I'm pretty sure this guy pays for advertising on Reddit for his steel bar bending company. He responds to comments on his ads too.

Now do it with a piece of hardened rebar and get back to me. Hot rolled steel is soft.

This is more about pushing through being uncomfortable than strength. I love bending and forcefully deconstructing things.

I just wonder why risking breaking one of the most important bones of your body (or more than one) when it doesn’t bring you any benefit whatsoever? If you’re a life or death situation then ok, but on a normal day doing this as “a show” is such a bad risk/reward ratio.

u/FatFaceFaster 9h ago
Am I the only one not really that impressed by this? I mean he’s strong but it’s just technique and persistence.
4
u/SledgeGlamour 9h ago
Yeah! And while we're at it, why do we care about the Olympics? Okay, you jumped real high, but that's only because you practiced a lot

You're not impressed by technique, persistence, and strength?
-2
u/FatFaceFaster 6h ago
It’s an extremely one dimensional, slow paced process. Most exhibitions of strength involve either increasing difficulty, time limits or competing against others.
This is just a party trick
