Informal/Less Formal wine tours in Beamsville

last minute … but we’re not getting responses from the tours we’ve reached out to …

hoping to find a tour, or at least a driver(s) for an afternoon for 2 ppl this coming Saturday. Starting and ending at our NOTL hotel.

Formal tour is fine, like I said we’re just not having luck. So we’re happy to piece together our own itinerary, just hoping to find a better option than Bering everywhere.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Where to Find Dettweiler's Sausages?

I am living out of province (and currently visiting family in Niagara) but I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Dettweiler's sausages! I know I can find them at the St. Jacob's market but I don't want to drive that far. I used to be able to find them at Harvest Barn in Virgil, but they closed down. They also used to be at MB Foods (and then Value-Mart) in Virgil, but Independent Grocer (who took over) doesn't sell them (according to my dad who can't find them locally).

I know I can buy online, but I won't get them soon enough before we leave. I need to eat these delicious sausages very, very soon. :)

Any cold plungers?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone in the area regularly does cold plunges or swims in the lake, especially as the temperatures start dropping. I'd love to find a few people to go with for safety and to enjoy it together! 😊

Community bulletin boards?

Working on promoting a local event (free and open to the public), focused on the intersection of creativity and aging, and I'm looking for community bulletin boards/businesses that allow posting of events.

Aside from libraries and municipal community centres, where else could we post event materials where the public might see them?

Prince of Wales High Tea

Hello!

I’m considering booking a high tea near Christmas for my aunt, my grandmother, and myself at the Prince of Wales in Niagara on the lake and I was wondering if anyone has experience doing this?

Are they really busy around Christmas time? What’s the process like of booking a reservation?

Moving to Fort Erie — how bad are ticks near trails and bushes?

We’re moving to Fort Erie and are currently looking to rent a house. We found one we really like, but the backyard backs directly onto a trail with quite a few bushes/brush along the property line.

We really like the view and the privacy, but our realtor mentioned that being right next to a trail and bushes could potentially mean more issues with ticks.

For anyone living in Fort Erie, especially if your backyard backs onto a trail, bushes, or wooded/green space, how much of a problem are ticks actually?

Do you regularly find ticks in your backyard, or is it more of an occasional issue? Is there anything you do to reduce the risk or keep them under control?

We really like the house, but if ticks are a major problem, we may have to reconsider.

Thanks!
