Opinion Chu Ishikawa's influence on Reznor

Been listening to the Tetsuo soundtracks by Chu Ishikawa and the first "Tetsuo: the iron man" soundtrack really sounds like a direct heavy influence on early NIN. One of the songs sounds alot like SIN off of PHM. I can almost hear some march of the pigs at certain moments. Just sounds like Ishikawa's industrial sonic pallete influenced Trent quite a bit. I think I like the tetsuo 3 soundtrack the most.

IIRC Trent based the Becoming off of Tetsuo the Ironman. He definitely was a fan of the movies and even did the Bullet Man Theme, which I'm guessing you already knew.

Yes I love that song! Didn't know that bit about the becoming but that makes sense.

Yeah, Trent talked about that movie and David Lynch films as early cinematic influences on his music. I could hear some Tetsuo harshness in TDS and Fragile.

I’ve definitely heard the bit that sounds very like sin in Ironman. I’ve struggled to track it down on the ost though
