Hello! I just wanted to share this new upload. @iambirthdaydad on Twitter recently shared that he owns this old NTBTS Web Series Screener. Check out the post here. Anyways, I offered to send him my disc drive so that he could make a backup to share, and he agreed! Now, @CarsonKompson (the admin of NTBTS fan-page) will be hosting a copy for fans to enjoy, as well as the linked backup on the Internet Archive.

I’m glad that this piece of lost-media has been archived for all to share, and very proud that I had a single thing to do with it! Please let me know here if you find any new content within these files, and most importantly, enjoy!

I've been recently checking out some extra content available about the band and I was wondering, did the other Piano Sessions for the rest of the episodes in season 1 actually exist? Like is there any evidence they were a thing before they were removed entirely? Just want to see if anyone from this sub that was around the vice era has any anecdote wether there were 4 more Piano Session episodes for the reason of season 1.

and why did that lady say it

Hello! I’ve seen multiple meetups around the community and have wanted to hold my own! The only thing is, I have no idea how many Nirvanna fans actually live around me.

So, if you’re a fan in Savannah, and would like to meet other fans around here, please comment and or like!

(I’m very new to this subreddit and the app itself, so hopefully this isn’t against any of the rules.)

I’m watching the show for the first time through and some of the titles/opening credits sequences are parodies of movies or shows I’m not familiar with: curious if anyone can tell me what this one is referencing, or if there’s a list specifically for these title/intro homages somewhere

Just announced: NTBTM will be shown at the Weird Weekender festival in Stuttgart as the closing night film (15. November)

Matt Johnson, if he was British.

For my birthday, my wife always makes me a custom Oreo, and turning 40 is a big one, she had a hard time trying to find me an appropriate theme.

Since I just found Nirvanna the band the show the movie on my (the) Delta flight, then finished the band the show on Hulu in just a month, she knew exactly what this year's theme would be! And just in time

Hi :) one of the things I love about nirvanna the band is how many jokes, easter eggs, and symbolism they can cram into the scene. I always get super excited when I spot something! But obviously I must miss a ton of stuff too, so I'm curious: what are your favourite little details in the show?

Here are some of my favourites that I don't see brought up too often:

- In The Banned List 2, When Flashback Jay re-inserts his quarter to call the jingle writing business, the Zoltar theme from Big is playing in the background (Zoltar is the carnival machine that grants the main character's wish to be Big— Jay wants to grow up 🥲)

- In The Bank, when Jay remembers watching the fireworks on Canada Day, Matt is smiling in his memory ;u;

- In The Buffet, the rendition of Gymnopédie No.1 is a pre-existing recording (by phillipe entremont)— but the version that plays at the end of the Banned List 2 is a rendition by Jay! And the piece ends early mid phrase once Jay leaves the rooftop 🥹 (I'll probably make a larger poster further talking about gymnopédie at some point because it makes me go a little crazy I love it's inclusion so much)

I'm not particularly sure how to word this, or if it's something people will agree with, because admittedly I haven't watched a whole lot of comedies so I could be speaking from a place of ignorance. I'm wanting to write my final essay for one of my units about the show as I really do think it's unique and has something a lot of other shows lack. I know genre wise its more mockumentary, but just for the sake of generalising I'll call it a comedy, since comedies tend to be blended with other genres anyways.

I feel like NTBTS particular style of comedy is really contemporary in it's various intertextual references and it's mockumentary style which I can really only compare to something like Nathan For You or more recently, Cunk on Earth, but I feel like it really differs from those in the sense that it follows a narrative and (from memory) doesn't feature conventions such as talking heads or voiceovers. I'd love to get people's thoughts on this, and what they find particularly unique about the the show :)

[X-men animated theme plays]

So Matt is on record being a fan of goddard, and i watched band of outsiders last night and i think this might actually be the central influence of nirvanna lol. you have two guys, informed solely by movies, trying to a do shoddy quest. one is often wearing a blazer, the other is always in a fedora. its geurilla shot in paris, and they even do a prank style running scene in the louvre where they get chased by security.

check it out

Hi all!

I just wanted to share that we have Luca on this week's episode and thought folks might be interested to hear his breakdown of the NTBTS crew's creative process.

I’m trying to make my son’s bday cake with the movie and / or show as the theme. Has anyone done this? Would love to see ideas!

There's something missing from this shoot...

I feel like one of us has this somewhere. I’m looking for a long document full of links to where I can get or at least mimic the essence of the guys’ house. Particularly all the stuff they have on their walls. I don’t want all of it obviously, but I do want to emulate a little of this in my new room! Or at least ideas of how to do this??
