I love low end universities punk journey the last couple of years

I love how his channel was mostly stuff like tool and journey or primus, then he heard Maxwell Murder and the whole channel basically had pivoted to all punk all the time.

Absolutely lol I didn’t want much before the punk stuff and then all of a sudden it’s punk all the time and became a top channel for me

Even if I’m not a musician?

u/imgrahamy 7d ago
Absolutely, I’m a shitty bedroom drummer but no musician and get I lost when he talks about theory, but it’s fascinating watching someone discover and fall in love with albums I grew up on and he does point out stuff I might not have noticed

u/NetHacks 7d ago
Hell yeah, because he's going to point things out about your favorite bands and artists you either didnt notice, or hadnt thought of. I've never played bass, and only mess around with guitar a little bit, but his videos are fascinating to watch. He will give you a new appreciation for artists, while he discovers his own appreciation for artists.

Of course, oh my, if you're a punk fan, you're in for a treat ! Especially a NOFX / skate punk / Fat Wreck / Epitaph fan, that’s been the dominant trend so far but there's also plenty of variety in the monthly fans made mixtape. There's hours of content every month now so I discover a ton of good music, the community is awesome and prob my favorite place to be in this wild and mad internet

NEW BOOK incoming?

u/andreasbaader6 8d ago
Seems like it. As a metal head I’m highly offended by the part he read out loud😂
Low end theory dude is the best music reaction channel out there. And a surprisingly good interviewer.
Fingers crossed for a propaghandi interview in the future

Is it a NoFX book or is it a Fat Mike book? I’ll read it if it’s the former. Between the first book and the film, I’m kinda tired of Mike’s “look at me, I’m so punk rock and I wear dresses” schtick.

As a NOFX fan who does a little bit of songwriting, I'm really looking forward to this book

I fucking love Mark. Especially his expressions when he hears something cool for the first time.

Gotta correct/add context to the Stanhope joke. Doug was talking about how comedians always have to write an entirely new hour of material for every tour while bands can just play a couple new songs and then the same songs they always play.

Somebody uploaded videos fat mike had during covid... and fat f mike had them removed. Stingy fat b. I lost alot of respect for him. They were videos mike made for his fans and when he noticed people were watching them for free. He copyrighted and got the whole channel removed. Pos

It’s a textbook example of copyright infringement

I knoooo. But its not punk rock!

u/OkDish4747 7d ago
Haha. Everything is free in a perfect fantasy-land.

They based their entire existence around not selling out.
2
u/OkDish4747 7d ago
Selling out and not wanting to be scammed are two totally different things. Like everyone else on Earth…Mike likes money.
Museum, Fat Wreck Chords, final tour, patreon, movie release plan, etc. All in order to make money.

u/queefhuffer1271 7d ago
Ur right.. fat mike turned into a b****! Then again it probably was fn Melvin!. I really want this addressed by the panty wearing dooshbag himself.

u/OkDish4747 7d ago
You sound like the person who ripped the vid.
You have to understand, these guys need money just like you and I need money in this crazy world. They aren’t arena rock stars. They aren’t set for life financially. They have families they have to provide for.

u/martinjpolakgwf 7d ago
Well while I completely agree with you, let me correct you: Fat Mike is the only one of them who is absolutely set for life.

The channel was called guierrer nofx. The footage was of how the band produced songs. Showed them recording ten seconds of drums at a time. They were basically all hanging out at Jon Grubers house. Having good times . Recording. And yea... im talking like 2 hour plus videos.. multiples. Recording guitars. Vocals.

Is he obviously on cocaine in this one? I can’t stomach watching him when he’s tweaked out these days.

Don’t know why you’re downvoted for this. I’m a drug user myself but I’ve always despised most of their drug elements, especially Fat Mike in relation to drugs.
He’s just a typical example of someone finding drugs later in life and thinking they’re the be all and end all. Even worse he’s nearly 60 with kids.

Excellent interview. Different than any others.
