Shark bait ooh ah ah

Even if you are 100% confident nothing will go wrong, why would you still do this?
What if there’s a shark under the boat you don’t see? Or one rising fast from the deep leaping out of the water?
Child services should see this.
352
u/L3xusLuth3r 5d ago
What if the kid slips out of your fucking hands!!!???
75
u/Beneficial_Being_721 5d ago
What if a shark is deep and launches straight up at the tasty little Chum Tea Bag?
Yea…. Dad ain’t thinking about that one
55
u/StarChild083 5d ago
It’s also extremely easy to dislocate a child’s shoulder this way. Fools all the way around.
17
u/powerhammerarms 5d ago
Yeah under age 5 this is considered a no-no. Realistically probably nothing will happen but you're definitely taking a risk when you shouldn't
134
u/Anonymous_32 5d ago
Or what if there are no sharks and you drop your kid into the ocean under a boat
41
u/Boonedogg1988 5d ago
They sink so fast too, idk why
22
u/ajt425 5d ago
They don’t know how to swim or keep themselves afloat
7
u/PuffedRabbit 4d ago
Stíll, blubber and air should keep them floating, Lest they evacuate all their air suddenly and make themselves not buoyant...
(Remembers infants and tots tend to cry their lungs out)
Well shit
2
u/WINDMILEYNO 4d ago
Its weird, because people throw them into pools all the time to teach swimming. I wonder if thats abuse disguised as technique, that just happens to work out sometimes
2
u/jkrobinson1979 1d ago
Babies actually take to water very easily. Some will ever paddle around naturally if they are coordinated enough. They associate it with their recent time in the womb. But no one is just yeeting them into pools unattended. You have to have someone in there with them for it to be safe.

I've swam with sharks they are generally pretty easy going because they don't recognize humans as food. Given my experience with sharks and what I know of them I still would not fucking do this since there is always a chance for them to behave unexpectedly given that they are wild fucking animals.
29
u/RCMike_CHS 5d ago
They will chomp on damn near anything. They've been found with a barrel of gun powder in their gut. USS Indianapolis, U.S. Navy heavy cruiser that was sunk by a Japanese submarine on July 30, 1945, shortly after delivering the internal components of the atomic bombs that were later dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. Up to 900 men initially survived the sinking, but many succumbed to shark attacks, dehydration, and salt poisoning as they awaited rescue; only 316 were saved.
9
u/brunohedgerow 5d ago
Watched a movie about this event as a kid, and that shit is probably what gave me my phobia of deep water. Jaws was fun, this was not
5
u/RCMike_CHS 4d ago
I remember seeing on TV too. I was told about it by a vet sailor when I was a kid, among other WWII tidbits of knowledge.

u/FaithfulDowter 5d ago
There's also the risk of dropping the kid. I mean, Michael Jackson was excoriated for holding his kid over a balcony for photos.
24
u/Slumbergoat16 5d ago
You know damn well child services isn’t doing anything if you are rich enough to own a boat
10
u/ParsleySnipps 5d ago
"We're sorry, but the incident was in international waters, so we can't intervene."
6
u/Slumbergoat16 5d ago
“There will be a small fine of 5 cents to be paid which can be rebated later. Sorry for the inconvenience”
14
u/FaithfulDowter 5d ago
I mean, there's a long list of men already in a particular File (starting with E and ending with -pstein) that nobody seems to care about prosecuting, so I think you're right.

As someone who has business contracts with our state DCF, I’d say that that doesn’t matter. They take kids out of wealthy homes also, if their living conditions permit it. You can be both well-off and a shitty parent.
3
u/finalexit 5d ago
Yeah I've watched sharks come out of nowhere to rip a hooked fish in half and there's no way this guy could react fast enough to prevent it.

Imagine having to explain to your child why they are missing a leg later on in life. Oof...

u/skyHawk3613 5d ago
I love my children so much, I would never willingly put them in any sort of danger. This is disgusting and reckless

u/portablebiscuit 5d ago
I don’t even care for my kids much and would never consider doing this

u/Aggravating-Echo8014 4d ago
I wont even put my kids on social media. Crazy how dumb people are now for a few “likes”
4
u/Buscandomiyagi 5d ago
Yo same here man. Even just the thought of doing anything to them is enough to make my stomach hurt. Then ask myself why such a thought would even cross my mind.
3
u/ultranothing 4d ago
Dude, I care enough about kids in general that this is absolutely horrific to witness.
4
u/Lovemestalin 4d ago
I hate children as a concept, I never want kids and I don’t want to be anywhere near kids. I still think this is disgusting and reckless

Even without sharks. Even with a smartphone or camera I would always consider “oops”.

This has to get back to him in some way. Somebody knows this kid and should report them immediately. Holy fucking fuck!

Call child protective services.

u/DirtyRoller 5d ago
They have no authority in international waters!

u/exceive 5d ago
Yeah, but that parent will eventually be on land. And stepping on land doesn't suddenly give people common sense.
A bad parent on the water is almost certainly also a bad parent on land.CPS isn't investigating crimes, they are assessing parenting. This may not be evidence that somebody did a specific crime, this is definitely evidence that somebody is a dangerous parent.

Please someone tell me this is AI generated....for the love of god.

I'm guessing so. I've seen some really good ai stuff recently.

And by good you mean bad. Very bad.
2
u/Dansinnervoice 5d ago
Yup very bad - IF it is AI (I hope it is) you know there will be some idiots who try to copy it in real life.

u/ssquirt1 4d ago
If that were my kid, I’d divorce his ass and show this video in court when going for full custody.

Reminds me of that video where the guy has a shark in the boat, and somehow it latches on to his finger, twists around, and falls into the water. The guy says 'well, I just lost my pinky.'
Animals are unpredictable. Insane they were stupid enough to post this video online. Hope it's AI.

Sharks and water aside just holding dude by the arms like that makes me cringe. My wife had both her arms pulled out of the socket as a kid when her parents picked her up like this
3
u/BungeeGump 5d ago
This is actually insane. Even if you don’t consider the sharks and open water, I would never dangle my kid by holding just his hands. That’s a dislocation waiting to happen.

Remove the sharks. This is still dumb. What if something bumps the boat, what if you get an arm cramp? It would be so easy to drop the baby.
I was at a wnba game recently and people were walking around with their baby hanging face down on their arms. It seemed like such an unnecessary risk

This is a teaching moment in Australia. When your kid leaves a wet bathroom or kitchen benchtop, dunk them several times in the sharks’ food bowl IE the ocean and use their wee torsos to stir the sea - then remind them that sharks will come and live in wet bathrooms and on wet kitchen benchtops. Bitey sharks. Very bitey sharks.

What if your wet hands slip and you drop the baby? Even without sharks, babies don’t naturally float… seems like a CPS visit waiting to happen. If the El Capitan dad is getting a CPS visit, my bet is these people will too.

We just saw an idiot get killed by jumping into a tiger enclosure. You'd think those in a zoo would be much more habituated! Not so much! If you dangle a kid in front of a hungry black, brown, grizzly, polar bear or large cat, they will eat it. Grizzlies or polar bears will fuck you up regardless.

Even if the sharks aren't there, that's stupid. What happens if you drop the baby and he gets a lung full of water and sinks like a rock? Sure, you can "probably" dive in quickly enough to grab him, but it's not 100%.

Doesn’t have to be a shark. Have you ever seen a grouper eating a large fish? One of those could easily swallow that kid in a gulp and disappeared down to the depths.
