The year is flying by, we left summer behind in September, but our nugus continue to put out great music! I had a difficult time picking out faves this month, so much good music to enjoy!

My top two releases this month are from ICHILLIN' J & EASTSHINE. ICHILLIN' J, a new subunit, brought a fun bop with BANANA (Look At Me!) and a great b-side, Runaway. EASTSHINE's EOI_KU is driven by Afrobeats and Brazilian funk and they also included a remix. I enjoyed both versions along with the b-side, Love Drop.

Other faves include:

• ASC2NT: Still with you
• In a Minute: When the sun goes down: Midnight - I am amazed that we got an entire album, pretty rare from groups that are this nugu. As a reminder, this group includes Jaejun (former TAN and C-CLOWN, two of my fave disbanded groups, also former JT&Marcus & TREI), Juntae (former JT&Marcus & TREI), and Hyunyeop (former TAN).
• LUNEDI (Weeekly Monday): ANEW - I loved the pre-release, CIRCLE, and she continues to impress, her songs are fantastic!
• NCHIVE (NCV): ACHIEVE
• Ryu Sejeong (former LOVELYZ): ALL THE COLORS I AM - Another soloist that consistently puts out wonderful music
• WOW (A.C.E): LOW - There hasn't been a miss for me from the A.C.E members with their solo work, just love this solo chapter for them
• VERIVERY: CONFETTI - All the songs are great and I love that we got subunit songs!

This is the home for all things related to nugu kpop artists. We're excited to have you join us!

What Not To Post

Rather than try to explain whether an artist is nugu or not, we are providing some simple rules for what does not belong on this subreddit.

1 - No NSFW or inappropriate content

2 - No AI groups

3 - No artists that consistently achieve more than 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Most of the artists we post here have less than 100,000 listeners, some struggle to get to 1,000 listeners. If an artist is regularly reaching more than 200,000 listeners, they are doing well and have graduated from nugudom for the purposes of this subreddit. One example would be JUSTB, after their last release, they were able to get above 200,000 listeners, but they did not maintain it and now have under 100,000 listeners, they belong on this subreddit.

4 - This sub is only for kpop artists (artists that were trainees-participated in Boys Planet or similar competition shows-or debuted through entertainment companies), including virtual kpop groups. Please post indie artists at r/kindie, trot artists at r/trot, and other non-kpop artists in the appropriate subreddits.

When posting a soloist, please include which kpop group they were part of in the title. Using disbanded group TAN as an example you can say "former TAN", "ex TAN" or just "TAN" to identify a TAN member that is continuing as a soloist. If they were part of a competition show as a trainee, please include that in the title.

When posting a newly debuted group or soloist, please provide some background for others to learn about the group, you are welcome to link to kprofiles, Kpop Wiki or an article.

5 - Do not post artists that were popular at one time or related to popular groups. For example, Choi Yoojung has a new release. Her Spotify profile shows minimal listeners, but she is tied to groups that were very popular (I.O.I & Weki Meki). These artists do not belong on this subreddit.

6 - No content from disbanded groups. You can post content from active artists that left these groups (see TAN example above).

Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions. We all make mistakes so give everyone some grace as we figure this out together and always feel free to ask questions to the mod team if you are not sure about whether an artist belongs on this subreddit. We're happy you've joined us to celebrate nugus!
