Hatteras What went down last night?

Some sort of spawning event happened at low tide last night… no tracks leading to and from these dug up areas that appeared in the same spot all down the beach…. Ghost crab orgy?….

I don’t think so….more like a bazillion holes dug up than a bazillion balls of sand….no trace of them outside of these dug up areas

Almost all traces of the nightly orgy were erased by a wave, but the highest point was spared by mere inches. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere

It was all erased by the tide an hour later…..what happens on the beach stays at the beach….they were at it again last night!… to a smaller scale

SOMETHING dug a few thousand shallow holes in the beach… I don’t know their life cycle but the “nests “ got covered next tide change… maybe the eggs spend some time in the ocean
