In addition to tonight’s cold front, a low pressure system forming just off the coast of NC is becoming more likely. Saturday morning may be your last opportunity to leave the southern islands, here’s briefing from NWS:

We left Hatteras Dream in Salvo 20 minutes after the 7PM notification. Thinking traffic will get bad quick.

I remember getting evacuated back in the 90s, we would just go get a hotel inland, ride the storm out, and return. Best weather was after we returned.

This visitor left at 930 this morning from our house, went to Orange Blossom, got a couple of Uglies for tomorrow, and then started our journey to Charlotte.

Dare County waited too late to make the announcement in my opinion. The locals weren't worried. The consensus at Lighthouse Sports Bar was Dare County overreacted.

I have put out temporary shelters for any crabs needing a place to stay during the storm. Free food provided. Official storm shelters marked with a pink buoy.
