How the fuck do you make an lgbt flag by just dumping a figurine into a bucket of paint? That's impressive

u/EditorMasterxd 2d ago
Having been in the Warhammer community for a few years now, I don't even remember this happening. At worst its people being bad at painting and painting them in pride flags
2
u/Bubbly_Alfalfa7285 23h ago
I think that was the reason I got banned from the main 40k sub. Calling someone's pride mini bad because the technique was "im gonna slap mud on the mini and farm karma with the trans flag colors" during pride month.
1
u/Spectator9857 1d ago
By dumping multiple figurines in multiple buckets with different colors of paint and then lining them up.

No, [r/hatethissmug](r/hatethissmug) is just a cesspool of incels and morons who think they’re right about anything and everything. Also all their arguments scream; "I’m not hating on the LGBTQ+ community, BUT".

This that place is a cesspool

those get nuked a lot so unless you are sitting there a lot you wont see them. The place is still lame as sin though, i have never seen an actually argumented post on there. its either takes colder than ice or "it insists upon itself!" type of argument

Yeah, i never said it wasnt lame, but to say theres posts like that is just silly.

Can we also talk about how awful those sub names are
What the FUCK is a smug?
I hate this MUG or I love this MUG make so much more sense than SMUG!! The community head cannon is that it stands for I hate this so much u guys but the op sub creator said they didn't mean it as an abbreviation!!
10
u/hamborger42069 2d ago
It's supposed to be "Hate this smug", as in smugly
6
u/GenericVessel 2d ago
nope, it's an abbreviation of "so much u guys"
6
u/oliverspikey 2d ago
I thought it was an iasip reference "Its smug aura mocks me"
1
u/Moonbeamlatte 2d ago
I thought it was short for “smug motherfucker”, which was something my parents said occasionally
1
u/Lizard_Crimson7 1d ago
Both of you guys are wrong. The original creator of the sub made it to hate on some character that had a smug expression (I forgot which one, I think it was Alastor or something) still a shit name but that's the reasoning
1
u/PlzHelpWanted 2d ago
Huh, I always assumed it was MUG. Thanks, I hate it.
3
u/Spiritual-Remote2664 2d ago
thats how i still read it, anything else doesnt make sense to me
edit: nvm i didn’t realize there were two S’s so i guess im wrong2

3
u/Lizard_Crimson7 1d ago
I wouldn't go that far, yeah a lot of those kinds of people are there, but people who don't have actual valid reasoning behind their post or make a low effort one that is clearly just discriminatory get downvoted. The poster here also has a point, I've lost count of the number of times I've seen low effort posts get crazy engagement just cuz the subject matter is something like this
14

No reason to call them incels
As opposed to morons, which there is plenty of reasons to call them.
1
u/F0xtr0t1 2d ago
i’ve always felt weird about them after seeing multiple posts about the progress flag. it’s not the most beautiful thing ever but they’re worried about how “trying to include more people will just be less inclusive” which is a really strange thing to say about a flag trying to include queer people of color + intersex people
1
1
u/Winter-Regret2224 2d ago
isn't that normal all groups of people make their own areas. hate would naturally emerge. look at how countries manage their borders.
1
u/GrandSandwichOfFates 1d ago
That's exactly fucking it lol. It's all a bunch of incels and hyper aggressive people who don't understand what's going on
1
u/ManagementIll9899 1d ago
I KNEW IT I saw it a few times as a recommendation and thought “damn you hate this thing THAT much youre making a post on it? REALLY?” And I cant exactly remember what was said but it was so nothingburger I genuinely couldnt see where the anger was coming from
1
u/guttergirllll 2d ago
This is esp weird bc iirc didn't lovethismug, essentially their opposite sub, have a transphobia thing a while back?
7
u/Panurome 2d ago
And zionism too. Literally in the rules it said it was a Zionist sub, but it was probably added by the problematic mod they kicked
1
u/twolake68 2d ago
Tbf that's the point of the sub kinda, it has some valid angers but then you'll have people coming out and doing things like this

I've never seen a community outjerk the circlejerk sub as hard as deadlock.
Sorry, that was too many uses of "jerking" and "hard". Brb.
1
u/mikeLcrng 18h ago
I would say ARC Raiders takes the title and it's not even close, but Deadlock has a strong showing in the grand scheme of things
81
u/aw_hell_nahtxt 2d ago
Truthfully, from what I have observed these past few weeks, the Deadlock community has the opposite problem most other valve games have.
Instead of being filled with racists euros who think dropping loud hard rs nwords on their own unprompted is funny
Its filled with tumblr esq queers who essentially brought unfunny done to death r/196 humor with them.
One is weird the other is just annoying
and me personally, I could never imagine hating my hobby just because a bunch of trans people made a shitty joke in the community Im in, thats just childish.
82
u/Stabbinjimmy 2d ago
This is kinda what happened to r/196 the memes got queerer and queerer and its cool that they get to have a space where they can feel safe but unfortunately none of their memes were funny
33
42
u/IKamenka 2d ago
Only issue I have is almost every space that is safe for them becoming r/trans with a different reddit name, losing whatever the original theme of the group was.
And whenever I see the same message regurgitated in a different manner spammed in these subs it makes me think it’s a bot farm upvoted by a mix of bots and people who like to circlejerk each other on the same points.
34
3
u/BlankMetal 1d ago edited 1d ago
I have mentioned that and people say that doesnt happen but for like 2 months r/terraria was litterally just both sides going at it about trans people with no relation to the game. Most posts that were transphobic were banned as they should but then you would go to check the sub to see things about the update or engage with the community and its just a bunch of posts about trans and half of them werent about terraria. Atleast at the end it started becoming trans version of characters and stuff like that so it was atleast related to the game but for 2 months it was genuinely just sad
1
u/sillylittlesheep 1d ago
weird how that works you would think bots are involed i just dont think there are so many trans ppl playing those games

Lady Geist mainer's hands wrote this post.
But seriously, what the fuck is actually wrong with this guy? Why did he even attached screenshot of an post completely unrelated to his issue? Why he mixes trans folk being very vocal online and inability to criticise anything LGBTQ related?
I really feel like it's some kind of attempt to justify transphoia by providing some very specific, unrelated example. Bro needs to work on themselves, not whine online

12
u/alexathegibrakiller 2d ago
eh, its a pretty common circlejerk in most left-leaning communities. To signal acceptance, any mention of transness gets outsized attention. Its not that big of a problem, but can become annoying if too many people catch onto it and use it for attention.

u/BirdieBoiiiii 2d ago

u/tristan4457 2d ago
I just think it's crazy with all the different stuff going on in the world and all the different problems people are facing, a big concern to this guy is the idea of if representation of minority groups in a novelty product is cringe. That's what we're spending time on.

u/bipolarstair 2d ago
Its dumb because it does even sound written by a Trans person. The I dont hate you cause your trans joke is overdone and why would rat king say that. Baba should just say something implying she accepts you as a woman instead of that mouthful and Solomons implies it takes time when if your Trans it just means your a woman or queen right away. I can get if they mean it takes time to accept it but it sounds silly.
Also why the hell are the characters talking to someone lmao.

An alternate 1949 where so much has changed that the very concept of our form of race relations probably no longer exist in their world?
We already have a racism allegory with the Friends of Humanity and Fairfax's war crimes against Ixians. We dont need white characters staring down Solomon and calling him the n-word or "boy".

okay so lash would probably make some mean-spirited jabs at it, but the fact he has another woman to womanize overtakes any late 40’s/early 50’s misgivings.
for the excluded new hero, Danny, I feel like he’d have the usual hang-ups and use some horrendously outdated terminology, but still sell you stuff, because money’s money and everyone deserves to get their hands on the finest war-crimes this plane has to offer.

That post is cringe, sure, but there's many cringe posts on Reddit. And if it gets so many up votes, then so many people like cringe posts like that. Okay? I like some cringe posts myself. u/themag1icman 1d ago
I mean objectively speaking it is cringe, low quality content that was only supported because its centerpiece was a trans individual. Anyone doing self insert interactions with characters is cringe, no matter the circumstances. Add onto the fact that is just boils down Solomon to a chess guy when it’s shown he’s more than that (he would literally never say that shit), and it just shows that this wasn’t done to like examine characters or anything. It was using sock puppets and fake voices to tell them what they wanted to hear, and for internet points.

u/grief242 2d ago
He probably would but I need to preface the following
Lash is a fictional character. He does not have opinions and cannot support anything beyond what his creator wants
It's bad pr to be anti LGBTQ and be a business. So Valve has a vested interest in making him pro
Personally, I think the original post IS low effort and some cry for attention for people to pay OP on their head and say they're a valid boy/girl.
That's fine but if you're looking for approval from Reddit of all places, your life is fucked up
2
u/Lethal-Jordan 2d ago
Don't think it was that serious to begin with, four subs being involved in a silly random post about fictional characters is also really rediculous, and, woah, low effort

u/chuntaoo 2d ago
Trans people around the world are being persecuted and murdered at alarming rates I think they should be allowed to be a little cringe on the internet if it makes them feel good. Who gives this much of a fuck that you need to write a whole rant about it
With that being said Lash would support your transition as long as you don’t buy counterspell. Or unstoppable. Or indomitable. Or hide under a bridge. Or—
0
u/TheUselessZeke 2d ago
Whether it’s cringe or not, it’s just someone's way to relax, unwind, and so on how others react doesn't matter at all.
It’s like people fail to realize that their temporary 'ew' has far less impact on them than that fantasy self-therapy has on the person it’s aimed at.
They’re acting like little kids. If you don’t like it, just move on

So what needs to be understood is that it is inherently political. It shouldn't be. It should just be ok to be lgbtq+. But some powerful people need powerful distractions to divide us. So they have weaponized our marginal differences in an attempt to do so. The reason you see a big focus on blindly supporting lgbtq+ in mainstream practice is twofold. Companies want to appeal to lowest common denominators in a shallow attempt at mass appeal. And counter culture individuals are tired shallow distractions. The end result is low or zero tolerance towards discussions meant to focus on distractions. Those distractions are a tool to manipulate and segregate you. This response is a bit "cringe", but the end goal(and the reason it feels conflated) is to unite people and disassemble the moot points of detractors with equal force. It will never be enough for puritans of any cause. There will always minutiae to quarrel over. Its better to just be open, accepting, and willing to ignore things that arent your cup of tea but are ultimately harmless so you can focus on real problems.
Edit: my bad. Been up for 23 hours and I misread the context of the screencaps. To answer your question. The lash probably wouldn't care one way or the other at a surface level. If his persona is genuine, he'd probably make a rude comment or joke. If his asshole persona is just that, a persona. He'd probably support you.
