Discussion 7 pts spread vs 15th rank UK
It’s me again. What do y’all think? We cover, squeak by, or lose at home? Does Nic Anderson get revenge?
I’m taking a revitalize Sooner Offense. 31-17 OU

They have the worst kicker in P4….we have the Lou Groza of 2025
They have the worst 3rd down offense in the sec ….We have the best 3rd down defense in the SEC
These two comparisons alone tell you about the spread.
More fun
The strength of their offense is the inside of their offensive line… the strength of our defense is the inside of the defensive line.

I saw somewhere that Kentucky doesn't have much 3rd down success because they have been really good on 1st and 2nd downs, so haven't needed it.

The statistics are still ample… I can’t remember what it was but I believe it was around 30 something 3rd down attempts with less than 27% conversion

Semi true as their fourth down ratio is really good which means good movement on first and second. However you still have to convert.

I dont expect a let down, we saw last season that this team can survive and win a big game and still be up and ready the next week.
If the offensive approach resembles the 2nd half of the Texas game, I think OU can win by 10...if we revert back to RPO stuff or Mateer turns it over, we will lose. I'll be optimistic and say OU 27 Kentucky 17.

I like the way you think!

Ive been known to be too optimistic, but what fun is it being a pessimistic/angry fan. Lets kick their ass, go on a run and salvage the season from a shitty start.

I’m just waiting to see if the offense will have a pulse for all quarters of a game. Is it the fact that we went up against some stout defenses which made it so hard to get going. Or is it really just that inept? Does Mateer get some confidence back after seeing how he needs to play to not drag the team down? Did the offensive line find a spark and continue building on it? This game will show how the rest of the season will go. I wouldn’t bet on anything.

Well the Mateer turnover flood gates started to open up again on the 3rd play of the RRSO, but he got bailed out by Fodje, & we didn't see another fumble. If he's over the hump I think we win easily. I just have no idea with the offense.

We can win. UK doesn’t have a very talented team outside the O Line. They are especially weak at safety. Their QB is kind of a wild card. WR’s are not impressive.
This is a 20pt win for us with a competent quarterback. Do we have one on the roster? I don’t know because BV won’t let us find out.

If OU doesn't turn the ball over:
OU 24
Kentucky 14
We get one TD from defense or special teams. Our offense manages to put 17 points on the board improving on the 13 points they scored the last 2 weeks.
If we have one disastrous turnover, it will be a game that comes down to the final possession or OT.
If we have two disastrous turnovers or more, it's Good Night Irene as our slim playoffs hopes evaporate.

I honestly have no idea what to think of the team right now. Defense is incredible. Offense is atrocious. Every game going forward wouldn’t surprise me no matter what besides losing to A&M.
