Just completely no comprehension of how any of it works. They can’t seem to differentiate a private message from a text from an email from a forum post from a social media post, etc. That’s why you’ll see them make a generic Facebook post addressing basically the world, saying something like Diane have you seen my mittens?

I really think that they think everything that comes across their screen is meant only for them and that a response is needed and wanted. It’s insane. I’ve had to block some of my old neighbors… recently I posted a picture that indicated I was in a certain town, and one of my fb contacts commented something to the effect of “oh you’re in town, do you want to be on my podcast (because I had been on it in the past) and this old ass neighbor who I barely even know responds to the person like “yes I would.” Like WHAT?! You don’t know this person, you don’t know what their podcast is, it’s a comment on MY picture, and you think they’re asking you because it’s on your screen. I’m sorry but what is the excuse for that stupidity? That’s beyond “not being used to this newfangled technology!” Shouldn’t you know MORE because you’ve been on earth longer? Sometimes it’s just funny and sometimes I’m like…genuinely what is wrong with you

My grandmother had trouble understanding that not everything on Facebook was directed at her specifically. I am not entirely sure why she struggled with this, but she did. It wasn't even a cognitive decline thing, she didn't get confused about other stuff.
