- 1 Boxer short for the night (1 athletic, 1 cotton - 1 worn)
- 1 sports pants (to be comfortable in the evening – not shown on the pictures)
- 1 pair of jeans (worn)
- 1 pair of Hemp trousers
- 1 Leather belt (worn)
- 1 Light blue Jacket (worn)
- 1 Cap
- 1 pair of casual Nike shoes (worn)
- 1 pair of slippers
- (I finally didn’t take the sports short and grey t-shirt on the right in the picture)

Toiletries:
- Topo Designs Dopp kit
- Solid deodorant
- Day cream
- Half of Dr Bronner’s soap in Matador Flatpak soap bar case
- 1 tooth brush
- Solid tooth paste
- little bottle disinfectant spray
- several medicine (pain killers, …)
- Q-tips
- Scissors
- Tiny hand towel
- Electric razor (Philips) with 1 AA battery

Electronics:
- Phone
- Boundary Supply Rennen EDC Case
- 10.000 mAh Samsung power bank
- UGreen 35 W charger (2 ports)
- Cables
- Nitecore thumb flashlight
- Belkin earphones
- 1 USB flash drive
- ASUS ZenBook
- Mouse + computer charger in Topo Designs pouch

 Hand washing kit:
- hand washing sheets (finally used in a washing machine)
- sink stopper
- generic clothesline (Sea To Summit clone)

 Misc.
- 0,35L Nalgene flask bottle
- Fjallraven wallet with credit cards/driving license/some cash/IDs
- Umbrella
- 1 TSA compliant lock (Osprey)
- sun glasses with case

I had to choose between a Goruck GR1 1000D and an ULA Dragonfly for this trip. I tried my loadout in both of them and preferred to take the Dragonfly.
After the trip, I can confirm my choice: the Dragonfly is much lighter and more compact than the GR1, the water bottle holders are a must and the Dragonfly can hold the same amount of stuffs than the GR1, and offers the external capabilities (bungee cord and water bottle holder) to hold a jacket, a water bottle or an umbrella. At destination, the Dragonfly can easily be used as an EDC backpack.

  • the ULA Dragonfly has been a wonderful companion. Its water bottle holders worked fine to fit my umbrella and my flask.
  • weight: around 8 kgs / the bag was comfortable even when walking a few kilometres with it on my back.
  • travelling with a small bag was my pleasure. I put the bag under my seat in both trains and it went well.
  • no hand washing because I could use the washing machine available in the apartment (but used the laundry detergent sheets I took).
  • small crossbody bag option: used at destination when I didn’t need the backpack.

Which size GR1 were you comparing -- 21 or 26 litres?

26 l in 1000D. Using the ULA Dragonfly could allow me to save around 700 g.

I got that same Osprey Travel Sentry Cable Lock, after far too much research and gram-counting. Thanks for the post.

In general, I use a vertical mouse but this one is less bulky.

What about the extra shoes?

No extra shoes. I just took a pair of slippers to be comfortable at the appartement.

How are you going to carry the scissors in the plane with you?

Call me old fashioned but for work trips I would never bring a hiking style backpack.

It's a question of personal choice. I like the look of the Dragonfly.

Even if it won't make a single work space appearance?
