It’s hard my dudes

I recently got out of a long relationship, and am trying to get back into the dating scene. So far only had conversations with people on dating apps, but the conversations seem to die off after a few days. I’m also not trying to be pushy about getting numbers or meeting too quickly even though I’m open to it.

But the most recent one was epically harsh:

After getting her number and texting briefly, she says: “you should write a book on how to be as unappealing to women as possible. You just do it without even trying”

Additional context for that was she asked me to build her bird cage for her, and then after explaining I’m not handy but I’m happy to give it a shot with her while hanging out, she said I should pay someone to do it while we have a beer then (which I awkwardly declined - not paying for services after talking for 2 days and having not met yet)

I’m not social. I just like being at home. I get the vibe it’s just off putting to every person I try to talk to. My soul is crushed.

Social Media

What's the opinion on asking a girl out on Instagram? Is this someone you've met before through a community or event you are part of, such as stand-up comedy? Sometimes it's difficult to ask in person when you are surrounded by a lot of people. I have been on dates before from asking someone out via messenger on social media. I just want to hear people's thoughts because this is confusing.

How do you respond when someone asks you something that’s already stated in your bio?

What’s an appropriate thing to say? It’s annoying and shows low effort when people ask you questions that show that they didn’t look at your bio. The first sentence of my bio states that I want marriage and kids, and I still get people asking me what kind of relationship I’m looking for. My bio is just a short paragraph.

I NEED ADVICE PLEASE

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 weeks YES,3 WEEKS but we were best friends before that. We are long-distance, and his dad is like the SHITTIEST person on earth, long story short. My boyfriend and I always call before he has to put his phone away at 10:00 (his time) and go to bed. Yesterday, his dad told him dinner was ready, but my boyfriend rushed over to eat, which made his dad so mad that he yelled at him, threw his phone across the room, and forced him to go to sleep crying. This morning, his dad gave him a chance to explain all this to me and then told him to break up with me.(My boyfriend said we could just block each other on Instagram and use another platform instead.) My problem is that I don't want to live in constant fear of losing him just because his dad is so easily pissed off. I don't want to keep hiding. Plus, now we can't call because his dad could hear us at any moment and hurt my boyfriend physically and mentally, but we also can't let go of each other. What I want to do is reach out to his dad and try to change his mind, but my boyfriend is scared that if I do, his dad might get even more strict and we won't ever be able to talk again.

best flower delivery services online for a long-distance birthday surprise?

my boyfriend and i met on reddit, and we live in different countries. his birthday is coming up, and i was thinking of sending him flowers. i've never done that for a guy before, so i'm kind of curious if he'd find it sweet or if it's just not something most guys care for. i just want him to feel special even though i can't celebrate with him in person. 🥹

i've also been looking at flower delivery sites that can deliver overseas. Teleflora came up while i was browsing, but i'm a little unsure about ordering flowers without seeing them myself. i don't want to pay for a nice bouquet and have something completely different show up, or have it arrive late.

guys, would you like getting flowers from your girlfriend for your birthday? and if you've ordered flowers for someone in another country, how did it go?

My date and I agreed to be exclusive, but I think he might be back on Tinder. How do I approach this?

I’ve been dating someone for over three months, and we agreed to be exclusive last month. When we had that conversation, we both deleted Tinder in front of each other.
Things have been going well overall, and I’m very emotionally invested in him and have strong feelings. He travels a lot and had been travelling for the last little bit due to work but comes back to my city since that is his home base. Whatever time he spends in my city, he makes the effort to come see me which i really appreciate but he has been twice in the city in the last month.

Today, I opened Tinder just to see and noticed that the distance on his profile had changed from the usual 727 km to 800 km. I had noticed a similar change once before since we became exclusive, but the distance eventually returned to 727 km and stayed there for around three weeks.

He has told me that he likes me a lot and cares for me but isn’t ready for a relationship yet because his ex did a number on him plus travelling is a big thing for now. I am okay to wait and I told him that. We have the best time ever and i care for him. We decided on exclusive together last month to focus on each other and get to the point of a relationship.

I know a distance change alone doesn’t prove that someone has reinstalled or used Tinder, and I don’t want to jump to conclusions. However, because we explicitly agreed to be exclusive and deleted the app together, I’m feeling really anxious about what this might mean.
I also want to acknowledge that I’ve been checking his Tinder distance myself because I’ve been feeling insecure. I know this isn’t healthy, and I don’t want to get stuck monitoring him.

I’m unsure whether to ask him directly if he’s downloaded Tinder again. I don’t want to accuse him without evidence, but I also don’t want to ignore something that could affect our agreement. I am a bit hurt and in pain by this because i am getting attached to him and want to explore a future with him.
How would you approach this conversation? Would you ask directly, and how would you handle it if he said he had reinstalled it? Am I reading too much into the distance change, or is it reasonable to want clarity given that we’re exclusive?
I’d appreciate honest perspectives, including if you think I’m approaching this the wrong way.

Are dating apps any good?

I've been single for about 3 or 4 years now and frankly I'm getting really desperate and lonely. I yearn for companionship and love again but it's hard to find it.

I'm demisexual/demiromantic, meaning i can't form any romantic or sexual attraction to someone unless I have a deep emotional bond with them. I also have really bad social anxiety, so meeting new people to potentially fall in love with is really difficult.

My IRL friends don't invite me to hangout with them or anything so I don't go out.

My parents keep telling me to use dating apps but the whole idea of a date just sounds so artificial and forced to me. Like you hangout with someone you don't know for the potential of a romantic relationship. It just sounds weird.

I just dunno what I should do. I want to feel wanted and loved by someone again :(
