Discussion Should developers stop making games that require 5090 for max settings now that the card is clearly not for gamers and is accessible to 0.1% of community?

I get that the games need better hardware to dun better, but who are they really making the game for if you need a 6000$ GPU at this point

I mean, a lot of people do have 5080s and 5090s that can run those settings.

This is no different to when in the past games had settings that even the highest end GPUs couldn't run. Crisis comes to mind

Also, this game lists "NATIVE" requirements...no upscaling taken into account. Most people do not expect games to be able to run with RT at native 4K in 60FPS, even on a 5090

Well seeing as valve said over 70% of people have a pc weaker than the steam machine, which itself is weaker than a base ps5 from 2020, I’d say no, a lot of people do not in fact have 5080s and 5090s. Hell they don’t even have 5060TIs. Most popular gpu is a 3060 and the 1060 is still in the top 20

2% is quite a lot for 5090 ownership.

Regardless, as long as a game scales well woth settings, it does not matter.

1080p 60 needs a 7900x and a 5060 to run. A system over 85% of Steam users don’t have. I don’t think that’s good scaling at all. If the most popular gpu, the 3060 can’t run your game well, you have a problem
