Discussion Should developers stop making games that require 5090 for max settings now that the card is clearly not for gamers and is accessible to 0.1% of community?

I get that the games need better hardware to dun better, but who are they really making the game for if you need a 6000$ GPU at this point

Right but what's the point of the 5090 if you can never make use of it because devs are for some reason refusing to do that

why would you blame the devs for not catering to the (often wealthiest) 2% of steam users?

Why wouldn't a dev future proof their game for minor amounts of work.

Why date your game when you can have it looking good 4 years from now.  Keep those sales coming.

You are talking as if having a game run on Max settings on a 5070 meant decreasing the quality. The point here is not to propose downgraded but to propose optimization.

I seriously doubt that having a game running on Max for a 5070/4080 is going to make it look like a PS1 game or make it feel outdated in a couple of years.

You're talking as though you have any idea of what the optimization is they did on the game.

The point here was worthless and inaccurate is that's the case.

I just picked up breakpoint, and yes it's dated. Even with their max settings.
