Discussion Should developers stop making games that require 5090 for max settings now that the card is clearly not for gamers and is accessible to 0.1% of community?

I get that the games need better hardware to dun better, but who are they really making the game for if you need a 6000$ GPU at this point

That is sadly true

After giving us one of the graphically most impressive games on their Red Engine and after they've worked on it for so many years post release they still decided to ditch it for Unreal Slop

Because allegedly the new employees can't comprehend it

i mean thats just not true lmfao

its simply because its very hard to develop new content on it and its insanely hard to maintain in house engines

you have multiple talks on this topic by cd projekt veterans

its something the developers have been complaining since witcher 3

do you people not remember what a shitshow cyberpunk was on release? lmao

and not just cyberpunk

witcher 3 was a disaster on launch

witcher 2 was even worse

I mean there’s been so much reporting on how messed up their engine was under the hood as a result of enormous employee turnover and long term crunch as they tried to finding Cyberpunk. I find it very plausible they wouldn’t be in a great situation as far as maintaining and building on what they produced. Other companies are able to build and maintain engines - Id, Ubisoft, Guerrilla, Naughty Dog, Insomniac, etc. A lot of those companies (not naughty dog anymore lol) have been able to both release a lot of games using their property engines but update them regularly and even license them out. Every single thing published about cd projekt makes them sound like they can’t get their shit together. Their games are always going through fucked up development and incredibly delayed and buggy on release. They just seem like they’re not super well managed. The crazy thing about cyber punk was that it wasn’t even in development that long, they just never had a well managed development. They were constantly redesigning the game from the ground up. The development seemed like it was crazy long because that first video they released was completely fabricated cgi. They made it look like things were already being build and rendered when it wasn’t true at all.
