I at least partially agree with him when everyone is asking for a "remaster" of a game with such a strong visual identity rather than a port that runs at a modern framerate

It's not like BB needs a ton of work, but it could use some higher res textures, a high res UI, a few remastered assets and other minor changes. All things that are already available as mods on PC.

Sony wanted another studio to do it (think of how badly Bluepoint fucked up the Demon's Souls remake)

FromSoft wanted to do it themselves

Sony said no, so FromSoft said no
