You are like a Dark Gift from the Night Mother herself. Please, tell me how I can help.

Anti AI stupidy is crazy here. :)
Someone improved game a lot and they freaking downvoting him and all comments.
Go play your broken piece of crap made by human (I'm not so sure).

It's noticeably less stutter for sure. How did you rewrite the code so it doesn't completely re-render the lighting in every frame and was that an easy fix?

Claude reviewed standard practices in the same or later versions of Unreal Engine and applied them to Oblivion. Apparently there is some stock way to monitor if sun/moon changed or not, and even if they did - to just calculate a minor update without full reconstruction

I knew it, these AI phobics will just downvote anything with AI in this sub. Touch grass miserable people…

Wow. Now I'm thinking I can go into my steam library and start fixing game and compatibility issues everywhere...

You absolutely can! I hope this inspires a wave of AI-fueled bug and performance fixes to our existing beloved games similar to what we now see in console->PC migrations

Damn, good job. Still stutters, but much less.

Video flight is at ~2x player on a horse speed, to match with the music, meaning we're constantly loading new cells. In real gameplay I've got to a point where stutters are not noticeable, hence decided it is now worthwhile to share with the community. Hopefully together we can find a way to get stutters to zero.

Funding destruction of consumer hardware market one subscription at a time! Thanks for contributing to making the world worse by supporting AI with your wallet
And I think even the most AI-skeptical people would find it hard to object when AI is used to make existing well-beloved games perform better and have fewer bugs.
Price of ram vs oblivion having some bugs? I will prefer AI to go to bin and prive of hardware to drop. You are still doing way more harm than good.

This is the same argument when horses were replaced by cars and computers replaced letters in the mail lol. Pandora's box is open and its not going back. You have to live and adapt my guy or else you turn into the guy yelling into the sky or being pissed off at something you have zero control over.
I hear what you are saying and I'd rather have no AI in the world but its here and its not going away. Are there better, more moral and ecological implementations on how it should be handled and built? Yes, but I'm telling you this and others so that you actually use that energy to change things you can control instead of being angry the sky is blue.
How about you serve your community, vote in every election (even local!), or just make the lives of those around a little bit better every day.
Wish you the best

well, its a couple prompts, not all of ai was leveraged against this one performance upgrade, hahahaha.

What followed was an immediate upgrade to the Max x5 plan
"It is a couple of prompts" required him to get 100$ a month subscription to Claude.

Yeah and you're acting like it was the entire budget of nvidia and openai, weirdo ;).

Before I was seriously considering to update my CPU (meaning also having to move from DDR4 to DDR5 RAM). So that I could also play upcoming Fallout Remasters. And now there is no need, apparently Unreal Engine can be just optimized to match the hardware I already have. Hence less demand on the consumer market :)

There are a lot of value reasons to use AI this is o e of them.
If you can use it and get the game to run better then developers/programmers can use it plus their multiple years of skill to port/optimise a game.
Yes some AI is completely pointless or just plain slop.
Its a tool a tool can be used effectively and enhance whatever job it used at or it can be used badly for pointless tasks where a human would be a better fit.
Nvidia is literally making cards better suited for servers and AI then try and find a gaming use for it thats it.
