Boards

I know I’ve seen some other people touch on this, but is anybody spiraling post boards? I think I’ve counted up 25 that I got wrong for sure which were stupid mistakes. On top of that felt like I guessed on so many I’m just so upset with myself. I feel like I put in so much work and it feels like it was for nothing. This is a terrible feeling. Does it get better the farther you get out from boards? Like at this point I just want to feel acceptance for failing. (That’s dramatic I know)

Everyone leaves that test feeling like they failed.

Send me a dm. I failed peds boards more than once and I am in year 19 of being an attending and survived it all.

I was talking to a colleague about this today. If you believe the rumor of the average raw passing score to be about ~76%… you can miss about 80 questions and still pass. I found that somewhat reassuring!

Following so we can all come back and say we passed. I’m counting too

I feel you. I failed last year and retook it this year. I didn’t necessarily feel better walking out but it is done 🤷‍♀️ Just try to remain hopeful ❤️

What you're feeling is very mutual among 100s, if not 1000s, of test-takers! At some point, you gotta just stop counting and live your next 2 months in blissful ignorance... much easier said than done, but I've been there. Plan some things that you've been putting off! Maybe its time with family and friends, taking that trip, or starting diys around your home. Start finding/remembering yourself from before this test and begin finding your daily rhythm without trying to figure out when can you fit time into study. You put your all into it! Time will tell, and you fretting about it right now is not going to change anything on what happened on test day.

From experience I’ve always done better when I felt like a test was hard or I didn’t do well. Don’t worry about it until you get your results and hopefully you did fine.
