Why can't he get DMF position?

I specifically wanted this card for the DMF position, but now it seems like it's not possible . I've wasted enough position tokens on this card only for the DMF position and it only trained either LMF or CB .

It could have been a powerful card for me in that position 🥲

Because his training wouldn’t allowed it. For each player there’s a certain position you can’t train despite them being close to the said position you wanted to train them. Press the ‘detail’ button at the bottom and it will pop up the positions that he can be trained. Same goes to every Messi card who despite can play AMF cannot play CMF or can play CF but cannot be trained to play LWF

Hey thanks for sharing this , I just checked his possible positions that he could acquire and DMF was not there . I might use this for some other card now.

You can only train a card in positions:

• He already has some familiarity at, and
• in positions that are adjacent to their registered position.

Any CB can be trained as DMF/RB/LB because those are adjacent positions. Some CBs can play in other extra positions because the player in question played in those positions IRL, like Beckenbauer at CMF.

Holy guacamole I never knew that about adjacent positions always being possible for training.

I read that and thought "nah - I'm sure there are players I've got that can't be trained as X, Y or Z". Checked those players in my squad and they can indeed all be trained for the adjacent positions.

Facts that’s exactly why I choose him a lb/dmf hybrid but after finding out that wasn’t possible I play him at AM and his runs are absolutely crazy.

DMF is not adjacent to his original position (LB). Eligible positions for training are positions with light green proficiency (SS, CF, LMF), and adjacent positions to LB (CB and LMF).

It doesnt make a difference anyway, cmf can be activated anywhere a dmf can and the playstyle is going to be inactive in both cases. Just place him where you want and play him as a cmf, its not like hes going to be more defensive as a dmf

Its purely on the luck maybe you can get the dmf position once you get the position token the newly introduced position skills but man i must tell you if you are with random position token then you you to get really lucky and get the two position of dmf at the same time because i think he doesnt have have the dmf position in his player id.

Naah it’s just not possible for that card or any card of his. Ig Konami hasn’t updated him to be a dmf in game for whatever reason

Use random tokens and hope one lands on dmf and then you can do it
