It's been north of Ireland far longer than it's been northern Ireland.

Everyone thinks you are Irish.

The British government, in 1920 decided to split Ireland in 2. There was no public vote. There was a referendum in the 70s but it was a farce. Regardless of a referendum vote the British government has the final say whether NI separates from the UK.

The border is shaped as such to capture as many unionist/loyalist population as possible so they could hold the power.

Now 105 years later, A nationalist (Irish) political party is the larger party and the unionist (British) party was recently led by a peadophile and is honestly a joke of a political party.
