Daily Song Discussion Where does sexual revolution come from

I was listening to the wall demo and sexual revolution sounds more like corporal clegg rather than the final version with eric clapton. I just might be dumb but I'm really intrigued of where this song comes from

Roger wrote the basics of both The Wall and Pros and Cons at the same time.

Yeah, he gave both to the band as a ‘which one do you think is better’ and they chose the Wall.

Wasn't it essentially replaced with "Young Lust"?

I don't really think so. The demo I was listening too had a demo for young lust that was really different in lyrics and instrumentation to the one on the actual record, which makes me think there was a place for both of them. I read that sexual revolution was scrapped because they thought the lyrics felt shallow, but whatever I really don't know anything

I always assumed it was because they were too similar thematically so they chose to use just one for the record. Especially since space was such an issue when they were first recording

No. They were meant to coexist. It would be more accurate to say it was replaced with One of My Turns, since one left and the other came into the project around the same time.

Similar to SR being held back for Pros and Cons, In the Flesh was originally an instrumental theme on P&C but made more sense on The Wall. You can still hear an echo of it at the end of Dunroamin.
