Whoever’s been dressing her lately deserves a raise, mod looks SO GOOD on her. The Nadja Doll looks were getting old.

u/hbomb9410 7h ago

Holy shit, Nadja Doll is such a perfect way to describe it

This is one of the funniest comments ever. So accurate yet unexpected.

What’s “mod”?

21

u/ChewieOrgana 6h ago

It's a cultural movement from the mid '60s. Fashion-wise women wore boxy/rectangular dresses with solid colours or geometric patterns and I think usually short hairstyles like bobs or pixie cuts. Men had those Beatle haircuts but I don't really know their fashion as much.

8

u/sousyre 6h ago

Here is some historical documentation showing men’s mod fashion.

(Not really period or species accurate, but it’s literally the first thing that popped into my brain).

u/freakinovernada 6h ago

Oh interesting! Thanks for explaining. I thought it could mean modern but I didn’t realize it was a whole movement.

5

u/ChewieOrgana 6h ago

No worries! You were on the right track, the term comes from 'modernist'.

I’m so glad she got rid of the bleach brows! I’ve yet to see them look good on anyone

16

u/salish-boat-9399 4h ago

I think Lady Gaga is the only person who pulls it off.

•

u/500rockin 2h ago

And only because she’s an alien lol

18

u/wreckingcrewe 5h ago

I hate when celebs bleach their brows. Just feels like they’re trying to signal that they’re “artsy” but it’s so played out.

•

u/500rockin 2h ago

Those things were a crime against humanity. It didn’t fit her face at all and made her look more gaunt than she really is. Her face looks sooooo much more alive with her natural color.

5

u/frolicndetour 5h ago

Amen. I hated those things.

24

u/dumplinglifesaver 7h ago

Her hair and makeup is so nice here.

51

u/sambeano 7h ago

She looks like Aimee Lou Wood here.

The original target dress

44

u/anayelline 7h ago

She is glowing in those pics .

11

u/Parking_Budget_1130 You know Quasimodo predicted all this 6h ago

Right?! Whoever dressed her understood her colors

10

u/RustyGingersnap 7h ago edited 7h ago

I’m confused as in some shots she looks like she has tights on. She seems to have a “tights line” and that shiny tights look. But then in others she doesn’t. Is it just the reflection? Is it just at the top of her thigh to cover a tattoo?

10

u/BerdLaw 6h ago

The photos all have a weird blurred/filter line going through them. They are easier to see in some than others but you can see here. This has come up before with other red carpet pictures and no one knew why but I think the best guess was something was wrong with the photographer's camera lol

4

u/Smooth-Solution-716 3h ago

No, its the classic erasure of the watermark at that position

•

u/BerdLaw 25m ago

Oh you are right that is it

2

u/Burrito-tuesday 4h ago

They’ve digitally smoothed out her legs.

2

u/Smooth-Solution-716 3h ago

No, its the classic erasure of the watermark at that position

u/scissorfella whore reporting for duty🫡 6h ago

Oh wow, I'm so used to her regular (fun goth) styling, but this is really fun!

7

u/Silly-Jicama-3382 5h ago

she looks so much...nicer and approachable with eyebrows lol

and I say this as someone who actually loves the no brow/bleached brow look (not on me bcuz I'm ugly but on beautiful people, I think it looks very cool and otherworldly ngl)

u/stickbugszz 7h ago

These photos are cunt, but I need some dress wearing individuals to help me out.

This very short style has been popping up a lot lately (short but wide at the end rather than tight to the leg). How does no one reveal themselves? I watch people walk around so freely without anything being revealed. Is it because the bottom is wide rather than tight, so it does not ride up when you walk? It’s truly an enigma to me.

u/Possum-80085 A day without sunshine is like, you know, night 🌙 7h ago

Back in the 60s, these dresses frequently came with matching bloomers or hot-shorts to wear underneath, being uber-short is kinda the point.

9

u/stickbugszz 7h ago

Oh yeah I get that it’s the point, and I love the look. Just wanted to know how to keep it comfy. I am obsessed with the idea of a matching pair of hot-shorts.

9

u/Possum-80085 A day without sunshine is like, you know, night 🌙 7h ago

My mom and her friends used to roll their school uniform skirts up until you could see the gussets of their panties, then roll it back down once 😅 they were playing dangerous games in the 60s!

14

u/Puffer789 6h ago

I think dresses don't ride up when they're loose enough. Friction is what causes ride up. Jenny has a slimmer body type, not much hips or booty. If someone with a bigger booty wore this dress (without sizing up), the friction of fabric on skin while walking would cause the ride-up. So the answer is size up until the fabric falls totally away from the body at the bottom!

2

u/stickbugszz 5h ago

This is a great description, thank you! Pre trans, I rarely wore dresses, and the only shorter dresses I wore were mid-thigh and TIGHT. I was like, this will keep the fabric down. Your comment just made me realize why the opposite was true. I would walk like ten feet and be showing my entire ass.

5

u/asietsocom Hello Sweetie 🪛 6h ago

It doesn't ride up, but you also can't bow down at all! If you want to pick something up, you need to squat.

u/Tapeworm_III 6h ago

They’re what now?

1

u/stickbugszz 6h ago

What?

-2

u/Tapeworm_III 5h ago

I think you made a typo in the word “cute”. Maybe.

3

u/stickbugszz 4h ago

Have you never heard of that phrase? Calling something cunt…?

0

u/GraveyardMistress 3h ago

Are you Australian?

5

u/stickbugszz 3h ago

I am just very gay?

•

u/mashtartz 1h ago

It’s gay slang taken from ballroom culture. It’s complimentary, saying these photos look good.

7

u/kindayeehaw jesus was a carpenter 💋 7h ago

she looks so cute! would love to see her hair like this more often

3

u/Low_Interview496 4h ago

6

u/Smooth-Solution-716 3h ago

dress from 1966 with hommage to the film she is promoting

6

u/-pine 7h ago

I hate the shoes. She's looking healthy.

2

u/RhubarbLiqueur 7h ago

Love this style so much

2

u/saberso 6h ago

Ooh thank you for sharing, these are gorgeous. Kind of want the hats as well.

2

u/Fun_Act_7507 4h ago

This style suits her small stature so well!

3

u/Twitter_2006 7h ago

She's beautiful.

1

u/Dense-Wishbone7127 7h ago

Dress is so cute i love it.

1

u/aquamarine-mermaid 7h ago

Love the red lip on her

1

u/xywv58 7h ago

At least she's having a good time

1

u/slightlypressed 6h ago

I’m loving all of her promo looks for this movie. It’s a departure from her recent style and it works SO well for her

1

u/BORT_licenceplate Repeat we are out of BORT licence plates 6h ago

Not loving that super chunky hem, but otherwise she looks great

1

u/domredditorX 5h ago

Can someone tell me the significance of the target logo like design on the front?

1

u/vasectomy-bro 4h ago

I want that dress!

Quiero este vestido!

1

u/treetea123 4h ago

Anyone know what lipstick brand and shade she's wearing?

1

u/Smooth-Solution-716 3h ago

melaniemakeup will post soon on her instagram

1

u/bookrt and that level is landfill 4h ago

I like this outfit but I don't like the colors. I think she looks best in muted earthy tones or black

1

u/AliasDesAs- 3h ago

It is a great book. Very intrigued by how they will put in in motion but in these dark AI days it is a blessing to spread this amazing story

•

u/ReallyBrainDead 2h ago

Looks off target. Which coincides with most of the reviews I've seen for this movie.

•

u/Braerian I wont not fuck you the fuck up 🥊🥊 2h ago

Gorgeous dress (and lip color). Maybe just gorgeous styling all around!

•

u/holdmyhandbaby 1h ago

She looks so pretty

•

u/No-Knee9457 1h ago

I adore the dress but I hate the shoes. I wish she had gone all out and worn boots.

•

u/Gumshoe212 1h ago

Oh, my god, that dress. *faints* I love the mod look, and she carries it off beautifully.

2

u/Itsmeruna 7h ago

It’s a fun playful dress. Not her best look imo.

3

u/crashandmontyburns 6h ago

I cannot unsee the Target Dog.

1

u/Itsmeruna 4h ago

Lol! I see it now you mentioned it. I get the sun concept she’s trying to play with, but It def feels like a forced attempt to dress on theme for the movie.

4

u/Same_Hope_0719 Ladies and gentlemen, once again it’s Lana Del Rey 4h ago

I don’t think this color is doing her any favors. She is gorgeous but this very stark white washes her out. The print is very Clara though so I get why she chose it.

1

u/Itsmeruna 4h ago

Totally agree with the bright white color not working against her skin tone. It feels emphasized with the red lip as well. Both too cool-toned for her warm brown skin.

u/aimeelee76 6h ago

Ooh, I *love* this dress. This whole look is great.
