When a song opens with wind chimes and a grumbling bass riff, you know you’re going to have a good time.

It feels like going back to the roots, but it's its own thing too. I like it a lot!
The fact that we're still getting bangers this late in the year.. warms my post-rock loving heart.

I’m listening right now. Just got to Remain. Surprisingly to no one, it’s excellent.

On my fourth or fifth full play of the day. A Great Fire just peaked and I'm losing my mind. Damn I love this band.

I think Caspian are an interesting band in this respect (beyond horses for courses, obviously).
I think it's quite easy to listen to a lot of their stuff and hear a fairly standard twinkly-spangly 'creschendo core' post-rock band. It's also quite easy to listen to them and hear a lot of interplay and refrains layered on top of one another, which doesn't make for the 'cleanest' sound, at times. I don't think either take is right, but I can see why they happen.
When they hit, they really hit for me. This new album is very, very good so far.
