Books/Comics It will never happen due to film rights issues. But this comic could have made a cool movie
Never been a big DC/super hero film fan, but I'll a bit of wiggle room Batman depending on the iteration. I just re-read this classic (admittedly #2 and #3 suck) and dreamed of this being turned into a movie. It actually works well as a one-off story; much better than it actually sounds on paper. Obviously with Disney owning 20th Century/Predator and WB owning DC it'll never happen unfortunately.

I forgot about that! A friend of mine bought it on DVD at a show back in the days before YouTube.

Finally found a Red Predator action figure at a sale for steal. 30$ opened. Sad it was from an estate sale from a comic guru in Columbus Ohio but I got it.

loved this comic as a kid. was so cool seeing Batman taking on the predator. disney owns it so it would have to be marvels batman which i guess would be iron man. that could be intresting.

Nah Iron Man vs Predator I don't think would be that interesting tbh. Or at least coming from what the general audience now expects Iron Man to be. Same with any Marvel propery. Something about Batman lends him to a much more grounded story than almost any other mainstream super hero (Marvel, DC or otherwise)

Ehh I think if you have good writing and direction you could do it.
Might also be wishful thinking. The AvP movies were meh at best so I had felt that the predator franchise was dead till Prey gave me hope. K of K wasnt perfect but it was pretty awesome and Badlands was amazing. Would love more predator lore movies not just human hunting.

This is the kind of thing that can only ever happen in comics, and one of the reasons I always loved this stuff as a kid. I remember BvP was one of the big ones, alongside Robocop v Terminator.

This comic imo is the greatest crossover of all time. You know its fantastic because it could slot in perfectly as either a Predator movie, or an episode of Batman The Animated Series.

Fun comic but personally never wanted to see any superheroes or random characters with Aliens or Predators on film. I prefer the films stories stay within Alien, Predator and AvP universe.

same here. when i watch the 87 predator (still the best, by quite a bit) it has a "realistic" feel to it. not that it is realistic, its a crab faced alien monster. but my brain can buy it as a realistic scenario, so i settle into the film more. as soon as theres a batman or whatever in there, all that goes out the window, im now watching a totally different thing.

It is a really good series. Would love this as a movie, stay with me here, just replace Batman with a city wide bounty hunter in maybe Detroit, MI.

The one thing that actually leaves the door open just a tiny bit is the existence of the Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated movie. Anything's possible.

WB played ball with Disney to get those Amalgam Omnibuses released, so maybe…

Wait. I read somewhere that batman is gonna go public domain in 2035. Sooooooo this is quite possible
2
u/LFTL56 Sep 15 '26
Technically possible. The original 1930s version of Batman becomes public domain. So you could adapt that with no issue. But you can't use anything from future works (e.g. The Batmobile, the Joker) until they become public domain too.

Yeah Batman v Predator was a surprisingly solid crossover, would be a dream live action project but it’ll never happen.
I’d settle for Disney reprinting it in a big omnibus though, Predator had a few crossovers with DC and it’d be nice not to have them collected.
Plus with Marvel comics doing crossovers with DC recently there’s a non-zero chance it could happen.
