Which dental schools still have pre-December interview slots available, and which ones have not yet filled their interview spots?

Hi all!
This is the megathread where we will keep track of interviews for the subreddit for the '26-'27 cycle. As has become custom, we will track results via a single thread with comments representing all the schools. People don't tend to be so good at hunting for individual threads (even when easily linked), so the single thread makes things much easier to moderate. Use our SCHOOL FINDER to help you quickly locate your high-level comment of interest.
We will use the typical Student Doctor Network (SDN) format because it's tried and true. Copy and paste the format below in the relevant comment chain.
Interview #__ / Rejection #__ (pick the one that applies and delete the other)
School: Name
URM/ORM? (optional)
Notification date: Date
Method of notification: Portal, Email, or Call
Residency: State
AADSAS mail-out date: Date your app was verified
Application complete date: Date the school said your file was complete
GPA (science, overall): x.xx, x.xx
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17):
Dates available OR your interview date:
Method of interview: Virtual or In-person or either?
Good luck! 🦷

This is your place to discuss the Dental Admission Test (DAT). Do you need to vent about studying or content? Decide on the best source of preparatory materials? Discuss scheduling the exam via the ADA? Perhaps ask about the particularities of the exam day? This is the thread to do so!
Note: feel free to make independent DAT breakdown posts. This weekly thread is meant to cut down on the overwhelming number of DAT posts, but not take away from your success!

Hey everyone! Do dental schools value applicants having a minor, or does it not really make a difference in how competitive your application is?
If a minor is worth it, what would you recommend? Would psychology, sociology, art, criminology, or something else be good options? Would it be better to take a few classes in different subjects without committing to a minor?
Also, does choosing a minor related to dentistry look better, or could an unrelated minor help my application stand out just as much?
I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially from people who’ve already applied!

Hey guys- Michigan resident here. UDM is my dream school. I applied in late July. Is it worth it to send a letter of interest to UDM in hopes to receive an invitation to interview?
What are your thoughts? Thanks guys!

so i was talking to the dentist i work for and she was telling me that dental schools care about an upward trend if your GPA is below average rather than someone who has been below average consistently over 4 years of undergrad, but i was wondering where is the line drawn. like if someone had all As their last 2 years but graduates with a cGPA of a 3.2 how is that seen? does individual coursework have more pull than the overall GPA? i know there may not be a lot of people who work/worked in admissions but doesnt hurt to see what people know lol

hi everyone
i have my interview day scheduled around a month from now in november and i'm a reapplicant.
last year, i messed up pretty badly in my interviews at other school because of sheer anxiety and panic so i rambled and had difficulty conveying what i wanted to say. i'm trying not to make the same mistake. i can't afford to do it again :( so any help is much appreciated!!
could anyone who has interviewed recently at nyu please educate me on how the day goes, what the questions are like and how do i prepare? thank you in advance, i really appreciate your help
🙏🙇♀️

What do you think you did / wrote that managed to get you the interview?
Do you guys have any advice for how to go about writing the ECs and essays? Does the actual topic / ec activity matter or is it more how to write about it?

What’s the best way to answer the question what’s the last book you read? Or Tell me about the last book you read when you genuinely have not read a book in a while. I feel like being honest and saying you don’t really read could only hurt you

I don't know how true this is but I've seen this advice going around a lot recently but people are saying "Make sure to get a B- or higher in all of your prerequisite course work."
Is there some secret rule where you need a B- or higher in all of your prereqs? I know the requirement for all schools is a C or higher in prereqs, but I keep seeing people say to earn a B- or higher.
Do I now have to retake my gen chem 2 and stats class because I got C's in both of them? Or is this rule not true?

Hello everyone! I’m feeling a little lost right now and would really appreciate some advice on what direction to take.
I currently have a undergrad 3.2 cGPA and a 3.1 sGPA and I’m trying to decide whether pursuing a master’s program or doing a post-bacc would be the better option for me. I have six classes left this fall before I graduate, so I’m trying to plan my next steps.
My concern rn is the cost. Master’s programs are pretty expensive and I’m not sure how I would afford one. I currently attend a private university and I honestly would prefer not to pay their tuition rates for additional undergraduate classes so if I decide to pursue a postbacc, I would most likely transfer to a public university in my city to save money.
For those who have been in a similar situation, what would you recommend? Any advice would be great!

I really have to struggle to find someone saying something good about dentistry these days…
Everywhere I look is that dentists are underpaid, loans are too high, job market is saturated….

For those who have taken the Casper test, how did you prep for it? Did you find any prep companies worth it? (ie, CasperBooster or BeMo)
Do you have any advice for someone who is about to start studying for it?

I don’t even get how this process works but can someone tell me how for an example someone were to apply in September get a Kira as opposed to someone that applied first day of June where the Kira is literally just the minimum requirements? I’m out here wondering when tf I’m getting a usc Kira but from what it looks like I will prob get it post December which makes no sense 💀

I know some schools (I.e. Tufts and Penn) absolutely do not want to be contacted during application review. Does anyone know of any schools that are open to receiving letters of interest/update (such as temple, Boston, UConn, Pitt, VCU, Maryland, or any schools that are known to be open to them.)

I'm sure I'm just overthinking this, but are there any suit/shirt/tie combinations that should be avoided at all costs? I have a suit that I've owned for a little bit, and I don't want to step on a landmine with it
