Hello 2026-2027 cycle MD applicants! Here is your thread for October 15th hype, reactions, and discussion.
Congrats to everyone who's interviewed with MD schools and is patiently waiting for a decision! (Also congrats to those who have been accepted early decision MD or DO.)
October 15th is the first day MD schools are recommended to release acceptances to regular decision applicants, based on AMCAS traffic rules. (Note that some schools do their own thing and may have already sent out acceptances or will send initial acceptances later.)
The mod team wishes you all the best. Manifest those As!!!
Please keep all October 15th discussion and reactions in this thread. If you make an individual post about your acceptance over the next few days, we’ll probably remove it.
Also please don’t lose hope if you haven’t received any interviews or acceptances at this point in the cycle. It’s not over until it’s over, which can be over a year following the opening of AMCAS in May!

AHHHHH I GOT MY FIRST A TODAY!!! 🎉😭 What a surreal day. I just finished my 6th of 7 interviews, and during my interview day at one of my top-choice schools, I got the acceptance notification from my in-state MD school. I’m incredibly excited, grateful, and honestly just relieved. No matter what happens with my remaining interview and decisions, I now know that I’ll be going to medical school. This process has felt so long and uncertain at times, so getting that first A is a feeling I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Wishing everyone waiting today lots of luck and good news. Keep your heads up, everyone! ❤️🩺🍀

Interviewed with one school on Oct 2nd and they said they’d let us know anytime between today and Oct 20th. Been going crazy all day, don’t know how I can make it until Tuesday if that’s the case 😵💫

Thank you!! I had a 524 and a 3.98, although I did a Master's degree on a fellowship, so stats alone do not tell the full story!

Aw that makes sense! Just fyi, on my phone they showed up as "Unknown" caller. They called me at 9:30 am but I was in the first interview day they ran.

Interviewed with 3 MD schools so far, 1 in mid-September and 2 in late September. Really hoping for good news tomorrow. One of the schools I know sent out a couple of A's yesterday already
