Here's a suggestion, and hear me out. STOP PUTTING YOUR SHIT ON META AND TWITTER! Bluesky and Reddit won't pull this crap.

Reddit actually might. They tried to suppress information about the protests when they first happened.

They have systematically taken away /r/all for this very reason.

I remember 5050 was a sub I first heard about the protests in then magically poof! Gone.

There's a whole internet out there. You don't need to host your info on a social media website. We did just fine before social media was a thing.

I got a blog we can use

They need to keep doing that to show how hypocritical they are about free speech.

I feel like Discord would be one of the best options.

Until anyone ask for all user's data when they feel they've been slighted

Why on Earth is anyone still using Meta products?

How else are boomers supposed to get their daily dose of racist memes.

Stupidity extends across all age groups, as you so ably demonstrate with your comment.

It sure does!

The AG in January 2029 needs to charge Zuckerberg, Musk, Bezos and all the rest of these fascist billionaire leaches - and use Civil Asset Forfeiture to take all of their ill gotten assets - everything Zuckerberg, Musk et al have is the fruit of criminal activity - it all needs to be taken - as a preliminary matter - even before their criminal trials. If Civil Asset Forfeiture is good enough for petty accused drug dealers, it's good enough for these scumbags.

Folks need to remember this. Some show-off shit down the way gets his two vehicles and ridiculous gold chains taken, the police make money, and we all act like justice has been served.

Some absurdly, overwhelmingly more powerful show-off shit, who is actively attempting to destroy democracy here and abroad, is caught acting in a way infinitely more destructive to our society, and doesn't have to give up his "gold chainz yo"?

Civil asset forfeiture is the perfect response to those who would tear our nation apart because simply being rich isn't enough for them.

It’s like it was unknowingly designed just for this purpose. Take his shit. He’s a traitor, a conman, and a filthy criminal. Nationalize any infrastructure and claw back every penny of subsidies.

I hope Jack Smith does that.

I think Jack's a little too conservative - he could have filed the stolen national security secrets boxes case in DC, but he filed it in Florida - I'd like him as deputy AG and as AG maybe Marc Elias who's been leading the fight (successfully) to protect our elections, Eric Savit out of Michigan (former prosecutor), or Letitia James (NY AG) running the show - someone really aggressive and enthusiastic about enforcing the law when it comes to Republicans.

Anay Democratic candidates or incumbents not campaigning on this, or signaling they back these efforts, are just as much the enemy as the Zuckerburgs of the world

Democracy dies in the dark...

and when all media is concentrated in the hands of a few billionaires, there is no free press, and independent journalism is dead.

Long live the King? OMDB!

The more people use Twitter and Meta, the more funding goes to the fascists

u/Hugh_Jass_Clouds 13h ago

You say that as if Reddit is not part of that problem.

7

u/HDWendell 13h ago

Does Reddit have problematic donors? Probably. But let’s not pretend they are in the same league as the harm Musk and Zuck have done. Or the highly problematic policies Meta and Twitter have. Im curious, why do you feel Reddit is as problematic as those two?

1

u/Hugh_Jass_Clouds 12h ago

Reddit might not donate as much to problem people, but they still platform people in the same way Meta, Twitter/X, and YouTube does. Not to mention the stark difference in how reddit has been moderated since the last election.

3

u/HDWendell 12h ago

Yeah I agree they have problems. But I think I’d rather tackle the billionaires that are actively destroying the country. Especially since money seems their only motivator and restricting ad revenue does that. I feel like your mentality is the same I see with people who are quick to defend their Twitter use. You don’t fix the door on a burning house before putting out the fire.

Ogliarchs should be first in line for the french celebrations

u/DawsonNY 18h ago

Has anyone posted a report on this? Amy news stories?

What actually happened and how long was it offline? I don’t want to careen into an opinion solely by a screenshot and a narrated reason why a particular account was offline.

Also there’s a Streisand effect here. If this was actually nefarious, it’s easy to see politicalians running with it next week.

I'm not shocked. They are using the supposedly factual community notes feature to subtly promote trump and the republicans... To soft-sell them, so to speak... they definitely have an agenda.

Orders from the White House again?

u/Not-TheNSA 17h ago

These guys are scared shitless. They see what’s happening and they know they have lost control. They are desperately trying to salvage whatever power and semblance of control they have left. Keep the pressure on.

Why are people still supporting Zuckerberg through Meta?

3

u/tonyislost 12h ago

Folks need to just start divulging corporate secrets everywhere all the time. Companies need to learn who owns their ass - us. Leak everything. Share everything. Operate off Teams and move discussions and file transfers to WhatsApp. Steal everything and give it away.

Time to end Meta
