I am very sad to say that I arrived in Qatar on the 12th of last month. Everything was going well for me since I arrived. I was working at Al Ruwais Port in Al Shamal Cargo loader position. Suddenly, due to the war between Iran and America, our port was closed and they stopped taking our fingerprints, which is why I have been sitting in the camp without any work since I arrived.When I came from the country, my father gave me 150 Qatari riyals, and I have been eating with that until now, but now I have no money except five Qatari riyals. Even they have stopped my salary and they are saying they will not provide salary until the port is operational. I am in a lot of trouble and I am not begging anyone.

I stood in the street for a few days, saluting the cars that passed by, in the sun and in the rain, but it didn't work either.😭

I want to at least work and eat, I want to live by working. I used to work at a car wash when I was in the country.

Is there anyone I can go to and clean their car every day and in return, they can give me whatever you want? 🙏

At least I can work and feed my stomach. I beg you for a work, for the sake of Allah.😭🙏

He is originally from Ohio, and this photo was allegedly taken during his time in Qatar sometime in the early/mid 90s.

Because I have no names, dates, or anything I am relying entirely on anyone who might look at his face and remember a guy from Ohio or even anyone who can help me pinpoint the exact decade based on the truck model, the style of the photo, or the shirt or something.

I’m honestly embarrassed and not sure if i can ask this but I really dont know what else to do.
I’m a university student doing an unpaid internship for the past two months and I’ve recently been told I may need to continue for another month before there’s a decision about a paid position. I’m trying my best to stick with it because I really need the experience and the opportunity but the problem is that I’m struggling financially. every day I walk from my house to the metro, take the metro, and then walk another 10 minutes to my office in the heat because I can’t afford other transportation. most days I don’t eat at work and wait until I get home to eat if there’s food available at home because my family is also struggling a lot lately and groceries have become expensive. I don’t want my family to be worried so I tell them I already ate. Alhumdulilah my life is still manageable. it’s just that recently, a senior colleague at work pulled me aside and told me that if I want to be hired, I need to dress more professionally since my clothes look old and worn out and it’s very noticeable.. tbh I understand where they’re coming from but the truth is that I can barely afford food, let alone new clothes right now.
Im not sure if this is the right thing to do but I’m reaching out to ask whether anyone has S/M women modest professional clothing they no longer need or use and would be willing to give away. I signed 12 months contract with this Real Estate company.

From Dec 10th 2025 to Jan 9th 2027. I gave them 13 signed cheques.

I paid the 1st 2 months rent through the cheques. they provided 1 month free on the 3rd month as per their policy.

However there have been financial challenges in my company since January 2026. My contract got revised and salary got reduced from 10,000 QR 5,500QR. The new salary comes in late sometimes between 12th and 22nd of a new month, with huge deductions month by month.

On the 4th month, due to the huge deduction, my account balance wasn't up to 3000 QR, credit card payment was deducted automatically, even without taking a dime to feed my family. The cheque got bounced . On the 5th month, I managed to pay the rent. Due to the financial situation I sent them email to hold the cheques for March and May before the due date for May rent, that I would pay all on June 8th. I sent this as a formal payment plan request. However, against my request to hold the cheques, they went ahead to process the cheques 3 times in that same month of May and the bank charged 1200 QR fines for that.

Then on May 30th, they filed a criminal case against me for bounced cheques.

Unfortunately, at the beginning of June last month, my company officially terminated my salary and placed all of us only on commission which is based on sales target.

I gathered all the documents along with 7 months bank statement and filed a request at the ministry of municipality to end the contract.

My first hearing at the ministry of municipality was June 29th. After that, I had a second one on July 7th.

The real estate also made a case against me that they cannot cancel my contract. On this 2nd hearing, I pleaded with the judge to accept my request to terminate the house contract so I can move to a small room somewhere else with my family, submit move out request to kharamaa to get back by 2000 QR deposit, then source for more funds to pay the previous rent of March and May which 6000 QR and close the criminal case at public prosecution.

Also offered to bring the keys of the apartment to the court or the real estate on or before 10th which is my cheque due date for July.

But the judge adjourned the next hearing to July 13th which is today. But there's holiday this week following the passing away of the father of the Amir of Qatar.

Meanwhile, on July 8th, I sent another email to the real estate management not to process the next cheque for this July so the money will not be piling up and bank will not keep charging 400 qr for every bounced cheque.

Just yesterday 12 July, they deposited the cheque for July rent and it got bounced.

Please what can I do? I want to voluntarily pack my stuff out of the apartment today and take the keys to the real management while waiting for next hearing. Because I cannot afford another 3000QR plus the previous 6000QR.🤦🤦 While waiting for court hearing next week Sunday after this public holiday.

I visited Qatar in 2024 , I wanted to live here but couldn't at the time

End of 2025 I got a call from a job here I accepted but I told them it will be only for one year because my goal is to keep doing and growing my online business.
It was kind of a win win ; their business was new and they needed someone and me I got the opportunity to come and live here through the easiest path (= visa with a company)

But now soon my visa will expire and I don't plan to go back on my word so I would like to be fully independant so for that I obvisously need a visa.

From what I saw the only LEGAL way to have that is through real estate or opening a company but I was surprised about how hard is it to find any clear information about this second option

It's been about 10 days since our cat Sushi left home. For context, he's an indoor-outdoor cat, and often goes away for a few days, maximum being 4. He's got no collar, and no chip, but he's neutered.

We're in the wukair ezdan area, specifically the ezdan 45, 27, 19 area. We looked around the surrounding three compounds, hung up posters, and even had the residents help us with the search. We've come up with nothing.

The thing is, he's disappeared around the same time the whole Rex issue went viral, and although Sushi doesn't look like Rex, most people would just look at a long haired orange cat and think jackpot, so you can guess what our biggest fear is.

We really have no idea if someone might've actually picked him up. I spoke to our compound delivery boy, and he said that he spotted him in ezdan 27 about five days ago.

This happened yesterday around id say 10 pm in the sports city metro station i think. I was sitting down with my volleyball and a girl came and sat next to me. I was going thro some stuff and didnt really notice her.

Then the train came, i went inside and i sat on the opposite seat she was sitting on, so like sitting facing her. Idk if she looked at me or what but i remember she wore a green Jersey , black hijab and some cool (home-made?) Jewellery.

I’m currently living in Qatar and planning to start commercial pilot training. I’m trying to decide between three options: doing an EASA route in Europe, training in Qatar, or completing my training in my home country.

My long-term goal is to work in Europe, so I’m wondering whether doing EASA training from the beginning would be the better option. However, I’m also considering Qatar since I’m already living here, and it could potentially be more convenient.

Training in my home country would probably be cheaper, but I’m concerned that having a non-EASA licence could make it more difficult and expensive to move to Europe later.

For someone in my situation, which route would make the most sense?

Not only are you giving haters ammo to spread misinformation about empty stadiums during the matches (Example, Debunked), but you are also costing your team the support they need from the crowds. Isn't it the reason you bought a ticket for a hefty amount to attend the match? you're not only there to watch!

Not exclusive for Qatar fans, it's a bad move in general. But I've seen Qataris and Qatar supporters do it before on the Arab Cup.

I am seeking urgent legal guidance or help, ideally from someone experienced in Qatar commercial law or banking disputes, or a pro bono lawyer if possible.

My situation is extremely complex and has left me stuck in Qatar with a travel ban and no valid ID.

Background:
My father started a company in Qatar in 2010 while he had UAE residency. At that time, I was added to the company at age 20 mainly for administrative purposes (signing invoices/documents). I was not managing the business operations.
Up until 2015, I was not paid properly and had to survive on my own while trying to support my family.
In 2016, my father took a bank facility loan for the business. I was listed as one of the guarantors along with the Qatari sponsor.
In 2017, during the Qatar blockade, many businesses left who we were dealing with and the company situation became very difficult.

We requested restructuring/grace period from the bank, but it was denied. Despite that, we continued paying and managed to repay around 50% of the facility.

Due to financial stress and internal family decisions, I requested to be removed from the company CR. My shares were transferred back to my father in 2017, and I was removed from the CR.

Later next year, my father passed away. After that, I had no control or involvement in the company.
Eventually, the municipality reportedly seized/removed most of the company equipment (auctioned or scrapped). I was not informed or involved in this process.

Now the issue:
The bank debt has remained, and despite me not being part of the CR anymore, I am facing:
Travel ban
Legal responsibility linked to the loan/guarantee
No ID renewal for over 2 years
No ability to work or leave the country
Financial and personal collapse
My Qatari sponsor is elderly (around 70 years old). My father is deceased. I am completely stuck.
Current situation:
I cannot work, cannot renew my ID, and cannot move forward legally or financially. I am trying to find a way to either:
Cancel or challenge the case
Reach a settlement with the bank
Find pro bono or low-cost legal assistance in Qatar
Explore humanitarian or repatriation options
This situation has been ongoing for years and is now severely affecting my mental health and stability. I am trying to resolve it legally and responsibly, but I am out of options.
