Get RCTDeluxe+RCT2 Triple Thrill Pack, and then link them both to OpenRCT2 for maximum content for your buck.

For me it was OpenRCT2 on pc and classic on my phone to play at work

What a process just to play a game... but this is the way.

So buy RCT Deluxe, buy RCT2 Triple Thrill, and link them in OpenRCT2?

My parents still have my RCT disk somewhere in their collection of old CDs.

But who has a CD drive in their computer nowadays?

I have multiple. Including ones capable of burning blue ray disks. They simply move to the new computer every time I upgrade.

RCT1 and RCT2, then update them with the community-run update OpenRCT2. instructions

RCT1 + RCT2 is cheaper than Classic for the same content and a better UI.

Classic is cheaper but has less content from the original games (namely rct1 exclusive vehicles, colors, ground/wall textures)

openRCT2 (rct1 deluxe + rct2 triple thrill) has all of the content from both games + a ton of new features and the ability to add custom community made objects, but costs a little more

Classic generally isn't cheaper actually. In USD it's $20 dollars.
RCT1 is $5
RCT2 is $10.

Dang, i thought it was only $10

Well then there really isnt an excuse to buy classic over openRCT2 (except for being on mobile, switch or PlayStation)

on pc should i get classic one since on sale

Nah, go ahead with rct 1 & 2 in my opinion

The advantage of classic is having all the parks in one package. But you are missing some textures.

If you buy RCT1 & 2 it's a bit more work to integrate it with OpenRCT, but you don't miss out on anything.

it's not even any work, OpenRCT2 has autodetection for both installations.

Nice. When did that get added? It's been a while since I looked at OpenRCT

Unless it's been fixed recently, Classic has bugs like go karts getting stuck or constant crashing if you zoom out. The ONLY thing it has going for it is cloud saving.

The original 2 and Open are the only way to go unless they fix classic.

The Versions on GOG

They're DRM free

Just play Deluxe, it's the original and best one.

I like the classic version because it saves your games on the cloud rather than on the PC.

Well since we will heavily persuade the OpenRCT route, See what’s cheaper overall. RCT Classic or both games separately.

1

u/imlegos Builder of Unfinished Mine Trains 21h ago

(It's both games seperately. In USD not on sale it's 5 dollars cheaper to buy RCT1D&RCT2TTP then it is to buy Classic)

Classic is ok, it’s definitely more for a mobile setup. Go with Felix and rct2 triple thrill, you can then download open rct2 which gives a cleaner ui as well as uniting the games together

cdkeys easily

I faced this same decision and went with Classic but I still can't tell you the differences

-4

u/Garurar 2 1d ago

classic has all scenarios from both 1 and 2 so factually it has more content. beyond that though, it's nearly the same game, with a few differences (mostly the new controls that rct2 added). id definitely recommend classic

Incorrect.
Classic is missing two. One of them being Urban Jungle.

Classic also lacks RCT1 specific content such as terrain paints & path types

Classic

u/kirito5asuna 1d ago

Is on pc still wort it?

3

u/DravenPlsBeMyDad 1d ago

I highly highly suggest you don't get the one named classic.

I prefer what Chirs Sawyer has intended over OpenRCT2. I play Classic on my phone and ps4 quite often

-4

u/ToeCapital927 1d ago

Both are great. Breakdancing Panda is a classic.

5

u/imlegos Builder of Unfinished Mine Trains 1d ago

That's an RCT3 thing, not part of RCT1 or 2

3

u/ToeCapital927 1d ago

Yeah I know but it’s still cool.
