Listen, I can see why Bronwyn was upset.
She felt like this was a party where everyone would go "wow you are so fabulous, you are amazing 🤩" all night long, and maybe she'd have a moment where the girls rally around her while she shit talks Todd, and everyone oogles her new boy toy. It was a performative party to show everyone that she is the cat's meow and help her uphold the image of perfection and being a socialite and whatever.
She probably had this party built up in her head and was excited for all her paid actors, I mean 'friends' from San Francisco to see her as elite and 'arrived'
So Lisa and Meredith stealing the spotlight and making a giant moment about themselves made her want to cry that this is her party.
I get it. My sister ruined every one of my birthday party's as a little girl. So I really do get the feeling of it not going the way you want and it feeling "ruined" and not going to plan.
BUT! I was a little girl back then and me crying and wanting the party to be over was what actually ruined the party each year. not whatever dumb antics my sister was up to trying to get a reaction out of me 🤷🏽♀️
She really should have just bopped along unbothered and laughed in their faces and then dunked on them for looking ridiculous, uncoordinated and sounding awful, and made it a fun light moment. Kill em with kindness approach.
I have no idea why everyone around her kept egging her on to be mad/upset. It's actually pathetic how much they want drama against Lisa and Meredith that they don't care if it hurts Bronwyn, all while acting like they are doing it cuz they care and are there for her lol if they were there for her they would be telling her to laugh it off and just ignore these clowns.
Telling her "it's your party", "they are singing this about you", "they are disrespecting your party" was just throwing gas on a small flame and got her really upset.
All the other girls saw was "yes!! An opportunity for me to spew on about how much I hate Meredith and Lisa and it will look justified if we are all mad together \'for'\Bronwyn."
The whole thing was camp and silly, and I have no idea why all the girls decided to coach Bronwyn into taking it that seriously. She could have been part of a really funny and iconic moment where they could have actually all laughed and bonded together, eventually turning into the night Bron probably had planned in her head where everyone just pays attention to her and fawns over her etc.
Let's get really real though. Bronwyn never had any intentions of having Lisa and Meredith here at all. Nor does she want their support/ friendship.
Had the night gone how she wanted, she probably wanted Lisa/mer to be silent spectators OR in a different area of the party entirely.
Even if she got the moments she wanted at her party, she would have taken issue with something they did or just ignored them and leaned on the other ladies.
Idk why she's acting like this is a betrayal of a lifetime
Honestly, they got the whole crowd going and turned things into a party that would be talked about and remembered by all her "friends".
Literally no one thought "yay we are all chanting this about Bronwyn 🥳" they were just drunk and thought some drag queens were preforming a campy song
The whole trip she has not shown any indication that if she herself actually wanted mer/lisa there. It's so apparent that she was contractually obligated to have them come.
Didn't interact with them at all at the bar after the trolley or dinner.
Sends them away to a dildo museum and says they can fuck themselves.
Didn't talk to them on the boat at all.
She keeps saying that she has really tried and wants a better relationship with them, but she just keeps ignoring them and making pointed digs that they are supposed to just laugh off.
I think the girls smell the animosity in the air and sense the changing tides, and they are all picking what side they want to try to be on for audience perception and their own vengeance, and Bronwyn is actually just getting caught in the middle of all that. And Whitney only cares a little because she sees herself in a piece of Bronwyn, but doesn't actually care about her.
