I need help with advise from someone who has gone through this phase before. I am currently a graduate and it has been over 6 month of constant application and cold email. Still not able to land any IT role and the worst part is I am not getting any feedback of what I am doing wrong. I would appreciate if someone with experience can go through my resume and give me some key pointers.

I Have a Question How should I format several positions within one company, when some of them may be irrelevant?

I work in pharmacy and only my two most recent jobs are relevant (everything before was entry level cashier stuff).

I've held one role with my current company so that's easy, but my previous job I held several positions from 2019-2024. Cashier, pharmacy tech trainee, shift lead, inventory manager, assistant store manager, and finally senior certified pharmacy tech.

Some of these titles share very similar responsibilities, so it kinda feels redundant to add them twice. Not sure how to list everything without my resume looking kinda ridiculous. Also don't know if I should include the cashier jobs I had as a teenager or if that would be irrelevant/waste of space.

I Have a Question Best AI tool for ATS-friendly resumes?

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a genuinely free AI tool to create and tailor my resume to different job descriptions for international opportunities.

Ideally, it should optimize my resume for ATS, improve bullet points, identify skill gaps, and keep everything accurate without requiring payment to download.

Which tools have you personally used and would recommend?

Thanks!

Is it my resume or is the job market in tech adjacent spaces just terrible? I'm running out of money and patience of this existence TBH. Been applying across the USA since I don't have a lease and still nothing.

Honestly looking to get out of tech and into a more business oriented role. Recently got an interview for Operations Analyst, but they ghosted me.

I Have a Question Do I need to put my new job title on my resume?

I have worked at a small company for a little over 3 years as a Project Manager. A few months ago, they forced me into a new position called Customer Service Representative. (They cut my position but rather than laying me off, they said I could move to the CSR position). Our company’s customers are about a dozen or so companies, so my job is working with them. But I hate the new job title because it sounds like I work in a call center. And the new position is weirdly still a lot of PM responsibilities.

If I’m applying to new jobs, do I need to put the CSR title on my resume? I’m wanting to get out of my current company but have had a hard time finding a job and feel like the new job title will make it worse. Can I just put PM and list my responsibilities as a mix of both positions? Are they going to verify? Would I get in trouble? Would a change to CSR hurt my chances at new PM jobs?

Just as some additional info, this is the only PM job I’ve had so it’s kind of the main part of my resume. I have a couple other things but this job is the focus.

Thanks!

I Have a Question Can I add school project into my resume?

Hi,

As a small group, we developed and designed an educational program for teenagers. Not sure I can say developed, but we did a document about target audience, which problem it solves, budget/cost, weekly schedule, etc. And we did a video and a brochure.

But at the end, everything is fake, so I don’t know how to add it in my resume.

thank you

I Have a Question How do I make a resume that sells me and my skills?

I have been trying to branch out into fields adjacent to mine, and even get into fields I have certifications in but I'm getting zero responses.

I currently work for a non profit providing direct support to individuals with I/DD as a coordinator of a home. I have done sales, property management and customer service based jobs. I have certifications in full stack coding, but have never been able to land a gig in that field.

So my question is, how do I format my resume so all my skills are applicable? Or should I just give up on tech fields until I have more "education"?

Consulting/Professional Services [5 YoE, Unemployed, Business Analyst / Strategy & Operations, Canada] Hardly any interviews across Canada + Europe. What am I doing wrong?

Post image

About the short tenures: several of my roles were short because of redundancies and personal circumstances (legit homeless sleeping outside etc), not because I left on my own. I'm now in a stable position to commit to a longer-term role.

What I'm applying for: strategy/ops, PMO, business analysis, client onboarding, sales ops and AI/digital transformation roles, mostly entry to mid level.

My process:

1.I find a posting and paste the full job description into Claude.

2.I ask it to rewrite my CV for that role: new headline, new profile paragraph, skills reordered, and bullets reworded to use the posting's keywords.

3.I keep it to one page, in English or local language, with the same layout every time. I also add certain keywords or edits depending on the posting.

4.For some roles I also write a short cover message or recruiter note.

What I'm asking:

- How should I present short tenures caused by redundancies on a CV? I'm thinking of a short note next to each role (e.g. "position eliminated in restructuring"). Does that help or draw more attention to it?

- Is tailoring the headline and bullets to every posting helping or hurting?

- Does the CV read as credible, or as someone trying to fit every role?

- Should I pick one or two target roles instead of applying broadly?

- Do I need to add more metrics, and where?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Please comment or DM your best advice.

I Have a Question What would you put on your resume if you literally have nothing for it?

I'm going to explain some things for you guys to understand this question (s).
I have no work experience, I'm homeschooled and have been my whole life. I live in rural SC, I barely have neighbors to mow lawns for, no one to baby-sit babies for, I'm homeschooled, I have not had any group projects or theater.
Have got a good GPA but dude, just because you have a good GPA doesn't mean they're gonna give you a job.

And just one SLIGHTLY off-topic question, would it be considered 'lying' to put my actual name and not my deadname on my resume if its not yet legally changed? or even a more gender-neutral spelling of my deadname?

I am just now learning how to drive and once I get my learners permit I want to get a job at some point (most obviously probably a fast food chain or at a grocery store) and with getting a job first comes a resume (even if not, I still need one for future work after college)
To clarify I am not asking how to write a resume or format or whatever, I'm asking what on earth would I put on a resume if I haven't done any of the 'normal school' stuff or after school activities and whatnot, I could mention my willingness to learn from my mistakes and how I'm kind, but what's that going to get me? I don't want to yip and yap about my strengths and weaknesses and seem full of myself.
Sorry if I seem like a full-of-it "life's just cupcakes and rainbows" teen, I just want to be prepared and I know you guys will probably have better advice than google.

Marketing/Sales [0 YoE, Consulting, Sales/Client Relations/Relationship Management, Singapore]

Thinking about a transition from consulting into Sales/Client related roles, looking for some insight as how to how to tweak my resume to match it.

Target roles: Think Client Coverage, Client Solutions, Relationship Management (Target industries would be finance, big tech firms)

Currently a 3rd year student, looking for my summer internship, hoping for a conversion

Resume doesn't seem to be clearing the initial screening process, not getting called for any first round interviews.

I've front loaded all my client-focused bullets to the start of each section, but I've had relatively limited client interactions, all those that I've included are truly everything I've done.

1st pic is the updated resume, and 2nd pic is my original consulting resume.

Thanks a lot for your time!

I Have a Question Can anyone suggest the best resume format for a Digital Marketing Intern?

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm looking to apply for Digital Marketing Intern positions and would love some advice on creating a good resume.

Could you please suggest:

The best resume format or template for a digital marketing fresher?

Any good resume examples I can use as a reference?

What skills, projects, or certifications should I include to stand out?

Any free resume builders or websites you recommend?

I'm a beginner, so any tips or examples would be really helpful. Thanks in advance! 🙌

Retail/Customer Service [2 YoE, Unemployed, Retail/Customer Service/Call Center/Kitchen Associate, United States]

Post image
2 Upvotes

I've been applying to mostly local customer service, cashier, and retail associates in my town and neighboring cities. I have reworked my resume multiple times since May 2026 and have applied for I think 60 - 80 jobs then related to what I'm looking for. I've had a few interview that I at least feel went decent, but I feel like my resume might be still causing me issues.

One thing I noticed is that when they see my Discount Store Experience, they see that as 1 month instead of 2. I also noticed that despite trying to make my experience legible I do get get questioned for fairly obvious, though that's probably me overthinking things. I also feel like how I present my college experience is causing so hiring managers to see me as either overqualified or that I'm not staying for long, since it's not a college nearby.

I would appreciate advice towards fine-tuning, possible with college experience or skills

Academia [10+ YoE, Clinical Laboratory Scientist I, Biology/Laboratory/Quality Control Roles, Open to Relocation]

Post image
2 Upvotes

I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I currently work as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I in molecular diagnostics and have over 10 years of experience in quality control and regulated manufacturing.

I'm looking for a new career opportunity where I can use my education, laboratory experience, and technical skills. I'm particularly interested in opportunities in Georgia, Florida, or California, but I'm willing to relocate for the right position.

I do not currently have ASCP certification, so I'm looking for positions that don't require it.

I'd really appreciate feedback on my resume, suggestions for job titles I should be applying for, and advice on how to become a stronger candidate.

Thank you!

Marketing/Sales [Corporate 5 YoE, Unemployed, Marketing Strategy or Analytics, Remote or Detroit]

Post image
3 Upvotes

I started off my career in communications analytics from 2018-2021. Then I made the switch to strategy which I did at a senior associate level. Between that time I got my masters in marketing communications.

In 2023 my company opted not to maintain my role post maternity leave and I haven't been able to find a corporate job since then.

I've attempted to keep my resume alive through social media work, predominately through a self branded channel. But I do still industry relevant things (research, analytics, planning, even reaching out and communication with brands for sponsorships), so it's not a puff role.

Obviously my biggest limitations to more analytics role is that particular company did not require SQL. Some brands did use SPSS but by the time I got there it was a more of a focus on PowerBI. But I've been told that experience is largely dated. I haven't removed it because at this rate it feels like all of my corporate experience is dated.

I'm trying to get back in at a senior associate level, but my interviews have been sparse

Technology/Software/IT [6 YoE, Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Portugal]

Post image

I'm a self-taught dev with 6 years of experience.

Thought it would be nice to get my resume evaluated here because I haven't really used it for the past 5 years (jobs that I got were recommendations from previous companies, starting in 2021), so I have no idea on how to position myself 😄

My work has always been split between Frontend and Full-stack so it has been hard to position myself as one of them (preferably full-stack or just a product engineer) and I've worked across different industries and I'm not entirely picky.

Always preferably applying for remote work and I'm based in Portugal.

Challenges: all the replies I get is that I'm not what they're looking for, so I never get really any proper feedback but I also don't get through to later phases of the process.

Why I'm seeking: money, as always. My salary isn't bad (47K gross annual) but I would like to see where I can get to and what my aspirations are.

What I'm looking here: overall feedback on how my resume looks and how it flows, if it makes sense or if it's just a jumble of words placed together that drive no recruiter's interest

2 years as an AI/LLM engineer (production pipelines, fine-tuning, evals). Based in Pakistan, applying locally and to remote roles. Getting very few responses and want to know what's wrong. Most interested in feedback on bullet quality, length of the skills section, and whether anything looks inflated. Details anonymized. Be harsh.

Technology/Software/IT [10 YoE, Unemployed, Senior Data Engineer / AI Engineer / Senior Software Engineer, South Korea]

Hi, been recently laid off and going 2 months with mostly negative responses from positions I try to apply to.

For a bit of context, I've been working remotely from Seoul (South Korea) in EU and US companies most recently. I'd love some advice on whether I'm getting rejections mostly from my CV, or the fact that my location could be a big issue (though I'm applying to both relocation-friendly and distributed teams/remote-first positions)

Any help would be great, I am financially in the big red and I cannot even get any sort of side jobs I apply to on freelancing platforms.

Thank you in advance!

General/Other Industries [5 YoE, Flight Attendant, Administrative, USA]

Post image

Hello! I’ve updated my resume 3 times now. After the 3rd time, I did get two interviews (though I don’t think they’ll follow up with me), and started receiving rejection emails versus being met with silence. So I think it’s some improvement, but I think I should update it again to avoid the instant rejection email.

I am trying to transition to an administrative role for preferable a company that works in or closely with the airline industry as I have 2 years and 9 months of experience at my current job as a flight attendant. If I cannot get an administrative role with a company like that, I am fine with other ones that deal with healthcare, or perhaps insurance related.

I have 2 years experience as a customer service representative at car insurance company. I honestly don’t care much for what industry I apply for, I just want better paying job that is stable. My current one has me struggling, going paycheck-to-paycheck and I can’t take it anymore. I am not happy as a flight attendant. I’m willing to just deal with whatever office job I can find :(

I am located inbetween Fort Worth and Dallas, so that’s where I have been applying too.

Let me know what you guys think of my current resume. What changes could I make to align better with an administrative role? Any help is appreciated. Just a 22-year-old trying to get better for herself. 🙂

Science/R&D [1.5 YoE, Data Review Assistant Scientist, Data Analyst/Bio statistician, US]

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello!

I am currently an assistant scientist in data review and want to take my current skill set in programming and find a job that utilizes it.

I am currently applying for data analyst positions (clinical or otherwise). I am currently living Virginia, close to Richmond. Ideally, I would like to work a remote job due to chronic sleep problems I have, but I am willing to work onsite or relocate. My current job is stable, but lacks upward growth (at least at the moment) and good pay. I would be willing to stay longer to build a stronger resume and project portfolio, but I am already somewhat capped in learning at my current job.

I have applied for 20-30 jobs over the past couple months, and haven't received any interviews, so I figured I would get some direction on the best way to improve my current skill set and resume.

Any advice is appreciated, thank you!

I'm actually more like a volunteer in my work experience from 2018 to 2021. I only started to become a full-time employee in 2022 to 26. But I was there when my ex-boss created the company, and I'm also included in the meetings with the investor sometimes. Not really sure how to highlight it since It's my first and last full-time job..

I'm the only one in the creative team, so I did a lot of stuff, and I also work during events in different roles.

Not sure how to make my resume sell more.

This time around, I worked on:

  • removing fluff from bullet points
  • data-driven
  • XYZ format
  • less bolding in the 'Projects' section

What y'all think? Your feedback is valuable.

  • Do any claims sound inflated or need stronger evidence?
  • Is the language readable? Are you able to follow what I wrote?
