I love what these devices can do, but still nothing beats the flexibility of an x86 handheld

Very true and I love my XAX to bits. But being able to play a lot, but not all, of the games I'd play on my XAX on my RP6, while being able to just throw the RP6 in my pocket was the game changer for me.

So sick! Did you follow a guide? I want to try this out on an rp5.

I used the official guide from the website

I haven't looked into Amada at all. What advantages does it give? Last time I ran Linux on on arm was with the Pandora. Steam didn't exist back then, and I found certain emulators to be a little lacking. For example I couldn't make the d-pad and stick at the same time to control d-pad movement in GBC. It was one or the other.

Definitely try it, I use ArmadaOS in my RP5 and is amazing, use it almost everyday, I configured it for dual boot through microSD but it’s been 3 weeks without using Android because playing pc games in Armada is awesome, specially in RP5, 6 or Odin devices.
Also, the official guide is complete, it’s not required to investigate in more places and another thing is that the development is being updated almost daily (for the people who wants to receive all the modifications as soon as are implemented) you can decide if want all the updates as soon as possible or wait for the official release that has all the small patches, the official updates are almost one each 2 weeks. The default configuration is that you receive the official updates but you could change it as I did to receive all the patches as a beta tester and there you could get solved some problems without waiting for the official release (there could be glitches in the beta versions).
In their Discord is a “Game compatibility” channel where everybody report how the games work in their devices and reporting glitches or fixes.

I know this is for retroid. But for these handhelds playing stream Odin3/ snapdragon elite is the way forwards.

Its a good flex I have the same pictures, have fun download your favorite Steam games just to realize than most of them will never open.

I mean, I’ve seen countless videos of people playing Steam games on them.. especially older games and a lot of the ones I’m tryna play to. Obviously it’s not gonna run the newest AAA titles, If that’s what you wanted, then you bought the wrong product. You must be doing something wrong on setup and install.

I know very well what I bought and I am very happy of my RP6 but that doesn't mean I’m going to lie about how games perform on Steam; I don’t consider Starbound, RimWorld, Project Zomboid or Civilization to be AAA games, yet none of them run.
ps: I am aware that you can still run them properly with others methods but for a proper Steam Deck experience, I am sorry we are not there yet.

I've been using Pocknix, I've gotten over 100 of my games to run, and a couple dozen to be playable. I mourn for Lego Star wars the complete saga however

I’ve got my Steam Deck Pocket. Use it nearly every time I leave the house. I’ve got Pocknix installed.
