I feel it in my loins
This could be a special year
FVV looks healthy. Team looks so much better with an actual point guard starting. KD, Amen and Sengun were all asked to play offense roles they were not comfortable with last year. KD can now just be a finisher. Amen can be an amazing cutter. Sengun doesn’t have to post up 30 feet from the basket. If Smith takes another leap this starting lineup is scary.
The bench is DEEP.
Tari, Adams and Smart could start for a dozens team. Boggy was a former starter. Reed’s offense is starter quality. Capela looks more in shape. Even Thorton and Crawford look solid enough to play spot minutes.
Houston is a legit DARKHOURSE to make the Finals. OKC and Spurs are the clear favorites. But Houston has players that will give both of those teams fits.

FVV back, strong defense gets deeper, young core is already good....hell yeah, get excited. I agree they're behind OKC and SAS but its close enough that injuries or luck could swing a series.

If OKC and SA get injured….
WATCH OUT!

Unfortunately that is the reality. It's very possible to make 2 seed. If our older guys get too run down limping into the playoffs it won't be pretty.

I’m certain that KD and FVV and SteveO will be fully healthy in May this season.
Udoka will surely load manage the vets and keep their minutes low so that the young core can get plenty of time to develop.•

Yea, everyone is now back to playing their roles and we have FVV with legit backups. This is what we needed last season. So many people were acting like FVV would be insignificant just because he's not a superstar.
We see now that he cuts down on our TOs significantly. When we're blowing out teams, they no longer can get back into the game. How many wins and blowout games did we give away last season because of TOs?
The offense is actually flowing and doesn't look like ass. Last year we were hanging our hats on shooting and getting 2nd chance shots, but overall the offense was ugly and unorganized in spite of how good we were doing. Just look at the Lakers game in December. We blew them out, but the offense didn't look good.

If the lower bowl never gets filled up,
Then the powers that be will just allow the team to just sniff the WCF. And before I get jumped on why attendance matters. Remember, Image is Everything! A half empty stadium is really bad optics for a national televised game!

Coming from the paid shill of Kevin Durant, this is not at all a surprising statement.

I just want to see the team whole in the playoffs and for a good chunk of the regular season. I think this team has all the pieces to be the best team in the West besides Spurs and OKC and with some luck maybe they can go deeper in the playoffs than people expect.

1) I think we are have a great, deep team when healthy for the next season or two.
2) After two seasons, it’s very TBD. I like Sengun and Amen but how likely will either become a top 15 player?
3) With the new CBA, I do wonder how much of an edge a team assembled like the Rockets will have. Does the new CBA prefer depth? Over being top heavy?

Houston has a great future. They have a ton of draft assets and zero max contracts on the books

QUestion 3 is stupid, when it's all settled that the new CBA was BUILT to break top heavy superteams like a twig.
We all know depth is the new king. Why you even asking that?

Another 50-ish win season and first round exit, KD opts out, and we're left with the most mid ass core in the NBA

Based on 2 preseason games lol. This sub loves setting expectations too high. This team isn’t sniffing the finals. They’ll be lucky to win a playoff series

Not taking this group with this coaching staff seriously until they win a playoff series. Sorry the reality is so triggering to some of you. It’s really not the serious.

Why are you here? You clearly don’t like this team by your constant negative posts, go be a Clipper or Pelicans fan.

Slight overreaction, but we’re winning the next 3 championships

I’d settle for winning a playoff series at this point. The Lakers series was flat out embarrassing TBH.

No. Based on a decade of watching FVV and Smart. Having 2 actual point guards is massive

Honestly, the depth is what makes this team so exciting. They don't have to rely on just one or two guys every night.
