As an Autistic photographer I did Fiddlin Fest to try and sell prints of my photos since it’s my only income because I have a hard time holding down a job and the amount of rude people was crazy just because my photos weren’t of Rome. Like a couple of people were interested in a photo I took in West Virginia and as soon as they heard that they walked away. I even had several people accuse my photos of being AI, which they aren’t.

Hi everyone!
I’ve been thinking of organizing/hosting a group to play American Mahjong in Rome, hopefully weekly or every other week. I’ve really gotten into it lately and would love to make some friends to play with!
If you’ve never played, I’m happy to teach! I have the supplies, so you don’t need to buy anything to give it a try. I’m pretty laid-back, and there’s no pressure to know what you’re doing.
I’m still working out where and when we’d meet, but wanted to gauge interest. I know when I was looking to learn it seemed like there wasn’t a great place to start or person to reach out to.
Feel free to comment or message if you would be interested 🦜

Hi all, my boyfriend (34M), has his leaners and is working towards getting his license, but it's slow going. Is there anywhere that we could pay for driving lessons, like they do for teenagers, but for adults? I contacted A+ Driving School, but they said they don't do any adult lessons at any of their schools. Any advice is appreciated!

Anyone in this sub that has been in the town for a while? I’m new to the area & can’t help but notice how run down Rome is. It looks like it was flourishing a lot more at one point what happened?

Hi, we’re four friends and we’ve put together Rome’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota.
The idea is pretty simple: you’re shown two restaurants and choose where you’d rather eat. For example, Harvest Moon Cafe or Aventine? All the votes then create a ranking that hopefully gives a better picture of where people in Rome actually like to eat.
We’ve tried to include every restaurant in Rome and clean up duplicate or outdated listings, but locals will always spot things we’ve missed.
iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota/id6744969212
Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app
Full transparency: we’re not from Rome and live in Gothenburg. There are four of us building this independently. We don’t collect or sell personal data, there are no ads in the app, and we don’t use AI-generated content to describe restaurants.
Any honest feedback is welcome, especially if restaurants are missing or something is listed incorrectly.

I might be relocating to Rome. What’s the job market like there?

Does anyone know where to buy discounted HON assembled storage cabinets around Cedartown/Rome?
I heard slightly damaged, scratch-and-dent, or factory-second cabinets from the HON Cedartown factory are sometimes sold for cheap .
Looking for any info on where to get them. Thanks!

Are there any racquetball courts in town? I see Berry College has one, but I'm not eligible. I'd consider a gym membership if one of the gyms around have one. But the gyms I Googled either don't have one or don't bother posting about it.

Hello fellow Romans! I just want to get the word out that Los Trios Mexican Grill on North Broad St (the old Ru San restaurant) has some of the best Mexican food in town. My wife and I have been there a few times and we have to say that everything we've had so far is amazing. The al pastor tacos are delicious and generously portioned. She had the quesadillas rancheros and said the rice and beans were the best she ever had. They use fresh ingredients which is obvious by the quality of their salsa, pico de gallo, and salsa verde. We want to get the word out because they deserve more business and stand out amongst all the other Mexican restaurants in town. Please consider giving them a try! I don't work for them at all I just want to see them do well :)

Hey Everyone
Hope you’re all well. I moved to Rome a couple of months ago. I normally get my water bottles refilled at food lion at Martha berry Highway, but it doesn’t seem to be working for over a week. I tried finding other spots but couldn’t. Would anyone here know of a reliable refill station (looking for refill, not a bottle exchange) ? I don’t mind traveling a bit of distance either.
Thank you!

Due to my disabilities I can only handle working two days a week and only a few hours a day and I would love to work somewhere and make a little money, and was wondering if anyone knew of a manager that would accommodate me?

We drive past it all the time going to Berry and have always wondered what it is.

The article says that the Floyd County Commission voted to increase millage rates and that it will directly affect our property taxes. Does anyone have any good information on this? The article is fairly bare bones.

Hey everyone! I am looking for some good places to fish in Rome. I am fairly new to fishing and I would like something that’s too crowded. I prefer lake and pond fishing as well. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know of any good hair stylists that are good with hair dying jobs? Looking to get mine done in either a deep blue or purple, however I’m not sure which places in rome are reputable enough for more tough dye jobs. Recommendations much welcome!

Anyone know of a cat groomer in town or atleast close by? I need a sanitary cut done for my domestic long hair. I highly doubt I’d be able to do this on my own and prefer someone who has experience do it so I don’t hurt her.
I checked petsense and they do not have their prices available on their website. Figured I’d ask here before calling them.

Hey y’all. Maybe my fav place in downtown was a gelato place called Honeycream that made the best stuff I’d ever put in my mouth. They said they were closing for the winter at the end of fall 2025 and would be opening again, but summer 2026 has passed now and they’re still not open. Does anyone know what happened or if they’ll ever open again? I miss it so much 😭
Thank yall!

Has anyone bought from this company and used their preferred lender, Ridgeland Mortgage? If so, how was your experience?

Where's some of the best places to source local honey? I'm not looking for neighboring cities or white-label sales, etc. Just farmed local wildflower honey to help with some allergies.
