Why doesn't this work?
This works exactly how I want it to on the Rustrician site, but when I set it up in game, I get the Short Circuit / Max Depth error. What could be causing it? Any help would be much appreciated.

It's a system that sends full charging output to one battery at a time until it is completely full. Once the first battery is full, it will switch to the other battery for charging. It automatically swaps between them depending on which battery needs charging. It works best if you're using the batteries as a primary and backup power source as it can also cut off power to a battery that has been destroyed to fully power the remaining functional battery.

Your schema looks quite a bit complicated.
You might want to take a peek at this schematic for backup batteries which shouldn't require padding with 8 components: https://www.rustrician.io/?circuit=986247932f82ee463b8d50c6b564d585

This is awesome. The first one does exactly what I wanted it to do and even solves one of the issues I've noticed with my own recently lol
Edit: I take it back. It does not solve the issue. The issue I'm referring to is:
If one of the batteries fully dies, it will no longer receive power from the circuit and it treats that battery as if it has been destroyed. I think a solution to this issue is having a small battery also feed 1 watt into each large battery, so if the large battery dies, it can replenish enough to get it back up and charging again once the other battery has fully charged.2

You're right, it does have that issue. It's even pointed out in the circuit comments in the schematic.
You can either use the second one which doesn't have battery destruction detection. That one will not run into that issue. But if both having battery destruction detection and the circuit not breaking when the battery gets fully drained is important to you, I have updated the schematic with an extra circuit that uses short circuit destruction detection, all you need to do is open the link again.
By using short circuit destruction detection, I can forgo relying on the battery outputting power to detect destruction. That means it solves your issue and it also frees up that last 1 rW from the battery. It just makes the circuit a little more complex.

I didn't even know that was possible. I'll be using that in all of my builds lol. Thank you

There was a glitch/exploit involving memory cells and they fixed it but ended up hurting memory cells and they did another change which made it mostly normal expect now there needs to be 8 components between the POWER OUT or INVERTED POWER OUT of a memory cell if it’s going to come back to itself the SET, RESET and TOGGLE. I’m pretty sure that’s the explanation someone correct me if I’m wrong.
I generally use blockers to increase the “distance” to 8 components before the SET RESET or TOGGLE ports.
