Hi all,
We had to say goodbye to our baby boy Arthur Bean on Thursday and we are absolutely heartbroken. I have never felt pain like this.
I wrote on here a week or two ago asking for advice about polycystic kidney disease but with it then becoming stage 4, his disease quickly declined.
He was such a scared boy and had a horrible start till we adopted him through a rescue with his sister, who also has the disease.
Arthur became an absolute love bug and my shadow. I hate waking to find him not sitting outside our door, in his beds or hearing his meows when he wakes from a nap. We miss him so incredibly much and I would never wish this on anyone.
I thought you all wouldn’t mind me posting his beautiful, handsome little face.
I will forever miss him.
He will always be the bestest boy ❤️

Ringworm nightmare advice desperately needed
I adopted a Sphynx and Scottish Straight 3m ago and within a couple days we found out the Sphynx had Giardia and gave it to the other kitten. Both we separated and treated but during this time the Sphynx also had ringworm and drops and shampoo cleared his body but tail was stubborn so he’s just done 4 weeks on intraconazole and his tail is looking so much better and no new lesions in weeks.
Tomorrow he has his first culture to find out if it’s cleared but what I’m worried about is that 3.5 weeks ago the door that separated them was left open and they had contact. And then day 18 post exposure I found a dry patch on the Straight. I thought it had gone but it was noticeable tonight will post pics, the last pic is after I had pulled all the flakes away I pulled hair out with them as they were attached to the skin but the hair didn’t come out when I was just rubbing the flakes away.
The kittens are struggling so much with isolation especially the straight he’s off his food and wrecking the room 😢 I need them back together but terrified this is going to add months on if he has it. I will be taking him to the vets but want opinions on this situation and also whether I’m going to have to bin his scratching posts and cat tree which were so expensive 😔

little princess is super social , but likes her space too. she’d rather we would be home more often than not, but not in her face all the time. but she loves being around people, and is super playful. she was a rescue so we didn’t intend to adopt a cat necessarily, though we’d just begun talking about it. i suppose my question is, do your folds seem to have a preference to having another feline friend? if so, does anyone have a second cat that isn’t a fold, but that have bonded really well? i have no idea how to tell if she’d prefer a pal, but she does want to play so often and i always worry i cant give her enough. considering getting her a buddy somewhere down the line.

So today my 10 month old fold has been lethargic and his breathing is at least 50 breaths per minute. He has had this before after play and walks but he hasn’t really done much today. He did get freaked out in the garden so it may be stress but that was at least four hours ago. I am monitoring it and if it’s doesn’t settle soon I will be taking him to the vets. Has anyone else experienced this and did their breathing return to normal without the need for a vet ?

I have a three year old Scottish Fold cat that I adopted about two years ago.
She, when I adopted her, was like a Velcro cat. She was always near me. She was always looking for pets. She would sleep next to me all night long, no bother. And even though she did meow a lot during the day, not so much during the night. She used to love following me everywhere and cuddling. She has completely stopped doing that. Is it adolescence?
In the last six months, she has started meowing way more. She meows a lot during the day and now also during the night for no reason.
It has made it really difficult to sleep properly, and I don't mind as much because I adopted her and I love her, but I have flatmates that are just not happy with the amount of noise that she makes. She meows so loud that it sounds like a baby is crying. I have tried to play more with her right before sleep so that she will be calmer when she actually does go to sleep. I give her supplements to make sure she's not in too much pain, and she seems to be jumping a lot and being really playful, which tells me she might not be in so much pain to explain why she's always meowing.
I just wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar experience and if anyone has any tricks or any tips or any cues on what might be happening to my cat.

Long time cat owner, first time Scottish Fold owner. She's 5ish, super sweet, and was adopted from my slightly insane mother-in-law, who left a kitten sized collar on her for way too long, creating a (hopefully temporary) ring of furless skin around her neck. Her name was Belle, but I'm searching for a new name.
