Question / Help Istikhara, how?

Salam everyone, hope you’re doing well. I remember my mother used to do Istikhara when I was a child using the Quran, where she would recite something and turn 7 pages into the Quran but I don’t know the exact steps, can someone guide me on where I can find it authentically?

If you visit Duas.org - the second link- there's many different ways and you can pick the one that suits you.

Honestly I didn't know these were a thing until I heard it from my mum and did some research.
