Minor Builds - a simple habit tracker without accounts

I built Minor Builds, a habit tracker with a simple goal: make it easy to show up and track the habit without turning the tracking itself into another task.

I'm also a calisthenics athlete and make fitness content through Minor Beast, so consistency is a topic I spend a lot of time thinking about. This app is one way I'm exploring it through software.

The current pitch is straightforward: habit tracking, no account required, and a clean interface. It's built with Swift and SwiftUI and is live on the App Store.

I'm the developer, and I'd appreciate feedback on the product: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/minor-builds-habit-tracker/id6776563682

The tradeoff I'm interested in is simplicity versus usefulness. A tracker can stay minimal but end up giving you too little reason to return. Add enough features and it starts feeling like work.

If you've used or built habit trackers, what is the one feature you'd keep even in the simplest possible version? And what feature would you happily remove?

Specific criticism of the app or its App Store page is welcome too.

I got tired of pop-up ads and sign-ups for simple web tools, so I built a free alternative with 20+ utilities

Hey everyone,

I'm a webmaster and I constantly need quick utilities like a JSON formatter, DNS lookup, or HTTP status checker.

But every time I Googled one, I'd land on a site that was covered in ads, or required me to create an account just to see a result. It was incredibly frustrating.

So I decided to build my own. It's called **Site Tools Box**.

It's completely free, has no ads, and requires no sign-ups. I built the tools from scratch, and many of them (like the JSON formatter and password generator) run 100% in your browser, so your data never leaves your machine.

There are 20+ tools covering DNS, Whois, HTTP status, domain availability, ROI calculators, and more. The site also supports both English and Chinese.

You can try it here: https://sitetoolsbox.com

I'd love to get your feedback. What's the one utility tool you find yourself Googling every week? Let me know, and I might build it next!

Got tired of re-recording product demos, so I let an AI agent do it

I'm building Taptale, a tool that turns product walkthroughs into interactive demos. The part that was the most repetitive was recording all the demos. Similar flow each time going through different products for examples and part of prospecting.

So this week I shipped a "prompt for an AI agent" button. You paste it into your AI of choice that can drive Chrome (I used Grokbot), and it clicks through your product while the recorder captures everything. At the end it hands back an editor link, and fully autonomous clickthrough of the product you're trying to show.

Honestly, the best part is watching something that isn't you use your product and click around on your behalf. Also works well for finding usability issues/QA.

Two demos the agents recorded on their own:

CRM

Notion

Would you let an agent record something your customers are going to see and interactive with?

Built a search engine for debugging which is not a wrapper

TLDR: I built a search engine that reads a bug report (or lets you define it) and points to the exact file (93%) and to the exact function (79.4%) you need to fix.

Hey everyone,

I recently made a new project while trying to get into RAG and automation.

Odin is more than a search engine, all you have to do is paste a public repo URL and link the issue or describe the bug yourself and it downloads, parses and ranks the functions based on the mentioned bug.

Why its different than any LLM:

It runs mostly in your browser: It uses Tree-sitter (via WebAssembly) and small local models (via WebGPU) so your code isn't just blindly shipped off to a giant cloud LLM.

It punches above its weight: Evaluated on 300 real issues from the SWE-bench Lite dataset, it puts the correct file in the top 10 results 93.0% of the time, and the exact function 79.4% of the time.

It’s incredibly efficient: It matches the accuracy of heavy Claude 4.5 agents using models under 1B parameters, cutting the cost per issue to a fraction of a cent.

There’s also a GitHub Action you can drop into your repo to automatically comment on new issues with the most likely functions to fix.

I would really appreciate it if you would give it a try (it would help me with the benchmarks as well)

feedback, questions, criticism are welcome

I made an offline Windows file renamer with a preview and audit CSV

I’m the creator of Bulk Filename Studio, a small offline utility for Windows 11 64-bit. Choose a prefix, starting number, and digit width; it checks for name collisions and shows the original-to-new mapping before applying a batch rename. It then writes a CSV with both names, file sizes, and SHA-256 checksums.

It handles up to 5,000 top-level files in one folder; subfolders are untouched. Undo is limited to the last run and only works while the recorded checksums still match, so this is not a backup or sync tool. The app is unsigned; the download includes source and a quick-start guide.

The current Gumroad listing is US$4 (it displayed ₩5,339 for me today). The demo uses fictional sample images and synthetic narration; the utility itself runs offline and does not use AI.

I made a site to find people to play online games with

I got tired of wanting to play something and not having anyone to queue with, so I built a little LFG app.

You can browse games, find lobbies by platform, region, and tags like “chill” or “mic required,” or host your own. There’s chat and optional voice once you join a lobby.

It’s still new, so there probably aren’t many lobbies yet. If you try it, I’d love to hear what’s confusing or broken: https://looking-for-group.vercel.app/

Drexius Terminal: A local-first, zero-knowledge SSH and SFTP workspace for Linux, Windows, macOS, and Android (Tauri 2 + Rust) (Termius-Alternative)

Project Name: Drexius Terminal

Repo & Website Links:

Description:

Drexius Terminal is a local-first, privacy-focused open-source terminal workspace and Termius alternative built with Tauri 2 (Rust), React 19, and xterm.js 6.

The Problem It Solves: Most graphical SSH/SFTP clients have either transitioned to recurring subscription models ($10 to $20 per month) requiring your credentials and hosts to reside in a proprietary cloud database, or they run on heavy Electron runtimes that consume 300 MB to over 1 GB of RAM. Drexius was built to provide a fast, zero-subscription client where keys, credentials, and configurations remain entirely on your local machine.

Key Features:

  • Local-First & Encrypted: Hosts, keys, and snippets are stored locally in an AES-256 SQLCipher database derived via Argon2id. No mandatory account, zero telemetry, and includes an Emergency Recovery Key export.
  • Terminal Workspace: Supports multi-pane splits (grid, vertical, horizontal), tabs, OSC-7 directory tracking, broadcast input across sessions, and session auto-resume.
  • Protocol Support: SSH with TOFU host-key verification, dual-pane graphical SFTP tree and file editor, hardware Serial UART, and local PTY shells.
  • Zero-Knowledge Sync: Direct encrypted LAN pairing and a self-hostable sync relay. Devices pair over local Wi-Fi or Tailscale via QR code using salted X25519 ECDH and ChaCha20-Poly1305.
  • Mobile Shell (Android): Universal APK with touch scrolling in mouse-aware TUIs (htop, lazygit), plus an on-screen accessory keypad (CTRL, ALT, ESC, TAB).
  • Lightweight Footprint: Built on a native Rust/Tauri 2 backend instead of Chromium/Electron. In Linux benchmarking against Termius under active sessions, Drexius consumed ~221 MB RAM and ~3% CPU across 2 processes, compared to Termius at 1,342 MB RAM and 78.5% CPU across 9 processes.

Deployment:

  • Clients: Pre-compiled binaries for the Public Beta (v0.1.0-beta.1) are available under GitHub Releases:
    • Linux (.AppImage, .deb, .rpm)
    • Android (.apk, universal multi-ABI)
    • Windows (.exe installer, .msi)
    • macOS (.dmg, .app.tar.gz for Apple Silicon and Intel)
  • Self-Hosting Sync Relay: The repository includes a standalone zero-knowledge relay server (drexius-relay) that can be compiled via Cargo and deployed to any VPS or homelab machine. Setup details are documented in the repository README.

I launched Chrome Appearance Switcher on Product Hunt today — a 100% open-source tool to toggle Chrome's actual browser UI to Dark Mode with Alt+Shift+D

Hey everyone! 👋

I just launched Chrome Appearance Switcher on Product Hunt today, and I wanted to share the project with you all.

The Problem it Solves:

If you’ve ever tried toggling Chrome’s appearance, you probably noticed the Manifest V3 limitation: extensions can darken webpage contents, but none of them can change Chrome's actual browser frame (the tab strip, omnibox address bar, and toolbar) due to sandbox isolation. You usually have to dig into `chrome://settings/appearance` every time.

How it Works:

  1. When Chrome is set to "Device" appearance, it mirrors Windows OS theme signals.

  2. The extension uses Chrome's official Native Messaging API to dispatch `WM_SETTINGCHANGE` notifications in Windows.

  3. Chrome receives the event and repaints its active window frame instantly — zero browser restart needed.

  4. Includes a global keyboard shortcut (Alt + Shift + D) to toggle anytime from any tab.

The project is 100% free, MIT open-source, and collects zero telemetry or analytics.

🚀 Check it out and share your feedback:

I built a "git diff" for SEC filings to catch what companies quietly delete from their annual reports

Side project: secdiff. You give it a ticker, it downloads the company's newest 10-K and the previous one from SEC EDGAR and shows you exactly what changed — deleted sentences first, plus a table of the financial numbers (XBRL) that moved.

I built it because I kept reading that professionals pay for filing "redline" tools, and I wanted to know what a company like Apple changes when nobody is watching. Answer, from its most recent 10-K: it deleted its whole ESG risk section. "Environmental, social and governance" appears 6 times in the 2024 filing and 0 times in the new one. Tesla did the same (8 mentions of "ESG" → 0). Exxon Mobil changed its "objective to play a leading role in the energy transition" into "seeks opportunities to play a leading role".

Tech notes: Python, standard library only (zero dependencies), the diff is deterministic code — the only optional AI part is a summary you can run with your own API key. 62 tests passing. MIT licence.

Live demo (real EDGAR data, free): https://secdiff.onrender.com Code: https://github.com/altafchikode09/secdiff

Not investment advice — it's a reading tool. I'd love feedback on what to add next (more forms? watchlists? alerts when a filing changes?).

I've been building a football management game as a side project, and it's getting a bit out of hand 😅

Thumbnail
my-11.com
1 Upvotes

I've played Football Manager for years, and eventually started wondering whether I could build something myself.
The idea was to make a football management game I could easily pick up on my phone, play for a few minutes, and come back to later.

It started with the basics, but I've gradually added transfers, squad management, tactics, competitions, youth development, contracts and multiple seasons.

One thing I've been particularly focused on is making the entire experience work in portrait mode.

The screenshot shows the current Career Office screen.
It's called MY-11, it's browser-based, and I've recently started letting people try it.

There's still plenty I want to improve, but it's been enjoyable seeing it gradually turn into an actual playable game.

Anyone else working on a side project that's grown far beyond what you originally planned?

Tired of endless group chat arguments? Working on an AI-driven resolution concept.

Hey Reddit!

As a solo indie dev, I’ve been observing a common pattern in group chats and online communities: endless arguments where nobody wins, context gets lost, and emotions take over.

I'm currently working on a minimal, privacy-first solution — an AI mechanism designed to act as a neutral "referee" in chats to analyze facts, diffuse conflicts, and keep communication clear and objective.

Would you find an impartial AI arbitrator useful in your daily group chats or team messaging? What features would be a dealbreaker for you when it comes to privacy?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

I built an Apache-2.0 PDF editor and scanner that runs 100% in the browser, so your files are never uploaded

Hi r/SideProject

Most free PDF tools ask you to upload contracts, IDs and bank statements to someone else's server. I wanted one where that simply can't happen, so I built InkognitoPDF and released it under Apache-2.0.

Everything runs client-side: React, pdf.js, pdf-lib and Tesseract for OCR. There's no backend that handles documents, no account, and it works offline as a PWA.

Features so far:

  • Edit existing text keeping the original font, add text, images and whiteout
  • Document scanner with the phone camera: edge detection, perspective correction, black-and-white "photocopy" mode, ID-card mode
  • OCR (Spanish and English)
  • Signatures: drawn, typed, or real PAdES digital signatures with your own certificate; several signers in order
  • Forms, annotations, merge, split, compress, passwords
  • True redaction (removes the content underneath) and automatic detection of personal data
  • A "privacy X-ray" that reveals what a PDF hides (metadata, invisible text, attachments, JavaScript, earlier versions inside incrementally saved files) and saves a clean copy
  • Compare two versions of a PDF

The UI is in English and Spanish.

Try it: https://inkognitopdf.com
Code: https://github.com/damofer/inkognitopdf

Contributions are very welcome, and these are places where outside help would make the biggest difference:

  • Translations into other languages
  • Personal-data patterns for more countries (ID numbers, tax IDs, phone formats)
  • PDFs that break the text editor (real-world files are the best test cases)
  • Accessibility review

Happy to answer questions about how any of it works under the hood.

I've built a harness in the style of Instinct, Muse, Dots as a side project and just open sourced it

Hi Reddit,

TL;DR:

While looking for a harness to use at my company, I built the engine that I'm open-sourcing today under AGPL-3.0.

You can create AI assistants with long-term memory, many connectors (Google, Slack, Notion, etc) and a sandbox to run commands, all on your own server and with the models you choose.

A single installation can serve a family, a company or a community, with each user isolated in their own account.

The engine also works for assistants that serve the public over WhatsApp or other messaging interfaces.

This is my first open source project, and anyone who wants to try it, contribute, or just talk about it is very welcome.

The whole story:

I'm the technical founder of a startup that builds virtual try-on technology for makeup, skin analysis models and beauty product recommendations. Last year we started using AI assistants to create hyper-personalized journeys in beauty retail. This year, especially after the Open Claw craze in January/February, I (like many other founders) went crazy over the impact agents could have on my company.

I started looking for a harness that both our clients and our team could use safely. After experimenting with frameworks like Agno and LangChain to build something for my clients, and then with a few flavors of Claws to bring agents to my team, I decided to build a proprietary solution from scratch. I needed something that would bring assistants into the day-to-day of my operation, across every area of the business, supporting the clients, partners facing agents and, internally, the ones for my small team.

The first test version came out in August. I published it as a closed beta for friends and family.

Some people asked if they could bring more friends into the beta. I opened it up in September because I felt the platform was mature enough to take on some more people.

Today the site is live in open beta, with a small group of active users. I also managed to make the system secure enough to serve what our enterprise clients need, our agentic business solutions are now being built over this engine.

But what does this have to do with open-sourcing it?

I expected this kind of platform to play a big role in society. I was at NVIDIA GTC and heard Jensen say that CEOs should have a claw strategy. I understood that it could change how people go through many parts of their lives (including retail, which interests me in particular because of my startup). What I didn't expect was a movement this big, with so much money in such a short time and such a huge amount of users handing over their data. I watched the funding announcements: Town (35M), then Instinct (350M), then Instinct again (1B), while I was here running my humble tests.

Watching this huge movement, I thought about the amount of data and the power these companies will have by centralizing so much information. Today users tend to trade any data for convenience (I can say that because I'm seeing it with the service I put online with very few people). Responsibility for data security and privacy has to sit with whoever provides the service. So I talked to my co-founder and proposed offering a free alternative for small businesses, families or any groups of people: personal assistants, but with control over their own data.

That's why today I'm open-sourcing Brambit on GitHub, under the AGPL-3.0 license.

I chose AGPL precisely to make sure that, if this becomes something of value to society, it stays open source.

This is my first time putting something like this together.

I'm sure any devs who looks will find flaws, bugs and problems, and that's exactly why I'm sharing it.

I'm a developer with 25 years of experience, but I coded the whole repository by myself, alone with my AI assistants, mainly Claude through Nanoclaw agents and any help will be important, even to criticize.

There are many problems I still want to fix, from the monolith that the server is today until translations (I've being adding to the issues section of the repository) but I focused on everything security-related first to have this first public version.

If you relate to the idea, see some value in it and want to be part of it, will be more then welcome.
I've also created a Discord channel, which right now is me and two close friends.

Thanks for reading this far!

Lemon Squeezy

I’ve applied to use Lemon Squeezy for a new project I’m looking to go live with as soon as possible, it’s dev complete but I’m now in a weird loop with someone from them where I’m being asked to give answers to questions that I’ve already answered at least twice.

“What’s your pricing”, “Can we have videos of the functionality”, “What are your socials?”.

I’ve answered all of these in the first email reply, is it just them slow rolling a “No, we can’t help you” or standard practice?

I built a draggable Mac widget to keep my Codex usage visible while coding

I wanted to keep track of my Codex usage without interrupting my work to check another dashboard.

So I built Pulse: a small Mac widget showing request tokens, model calls, cache reuse and weekly usage. You can drag it out of the way when it covers something.

Having those numbers visible helps me decide when to switch models. It doesn’t increase your limits.

It costs $5 once for one Mac at a time. I’m the developer, and it’s independent of OpenAI.

For people using Codex on Mac: what information would make this useful enough to keep on your screen?

Two AIs having a secret conversation inside a normal-sounding phone call

https://reddit.com/link/1x8l98x/video/akku4slod3wh1/player

https://www.piggy-link.cloud/

We made two AI agents talk on a call and secretly pass data through near ultra sound mixed with speech.
They chat normally, but one tricks the other into reading back a (fake) card number and PIN. Nothing goes over the internet, just speaker to mic.

Small twist on the GibberLink project, still using ggwave.

You can test it out yourself with 2 devices

Not sure if it’s just a fun hack or a real security problem. Any thoughts?

I couldn’t decide how my game should work, so I made all six versions playable

Three of us are building a stock market drafting game and we kept arguing about the rules. More rounds or fewer. Hold a pick for a year or ten. Whether you can sell and reinvest or you’re locked in once you pick.

Instead of picking one and committing, we built a fake app store where each app is a different version of the game. Six presets, plus a custom mode where you set the rules yourself.

No backend. 48 made up companies with generated prices, same seed every time, so every mode plays the exact same market and you can actually compare them.

The thing that made it work was keeping the rules as config instead of code. A mode is just a set of values: rounds, board type, hold length, how you split your budget, selling on or off. Adding one takes a minute. The custom mode is basically a form over that.

Next step is we each play all six and whichever one is most fun gets built for real with actual market data.

Next.js and TypeScript, built with Cline.

Curious if anyone else has done the “build every version instead of choosing” thing, and whether it actually settled the argument or just gave you six things to maintain.

I missed discovering browser games on Newgrounds, so I built an arcade collecting 350 AI-assisted games - and counting!

I used to love finding games on Newgrounds and losing an IT lesson to them!

Recently, I kept seeing people sharing games they’d made with AI. Some looked brilliant, but their links were scattered across posts and threads.

So I built Playground Arcade: a free-to-browse directory that now has 350+ games, with categories, ratings, creator links and a button that suggests three random games when you can’t decide.

The games belong to their individual creators, and clicking play takes you to their sites. It tells you which games have controller compatibility, work on mobile too or are browser-only.

This video shows four of them: Sky Reach, The Little Prince Among the Stars, Sprout Quest (which I finished!) and an unofficial Spider-Man fan game.

Have a gander yourself: playgroundarcade.com

I’d love to know which game grabs you - and whether the site makes finding something to play easy enough.

If you’ve built one yourself, there’s a submission form too.

Hopefully of some small interest!

I built a free, lightning-fast text editor with AI tools, file converters, and clean utilities (No ads/signup)

Hey everyone!

I got tired of jumping between 5 different websites just to clean up text, strip spaces, convert Word/Markdown files, format JSON, or use AI to fix grammar and summarize content. So, I built TextFix Pro ([https://textfix-pro.vercel.app](https://textfix-pro.vercel.app)).

It's a completely free, web-based intelligent text assistant designed to make text processing instant and hassle-free.

What it can do:

  • AI Tools: Instantly summarize, fix grammar, expand, or simplify any text using Gemini AI.
  • File Support: Upload and extract text directly from .txt, .md, .json, and .docx files, and export back to Word or text.
  • Smart Cleaning & Formatting: Remove extra spaces, duplicate/empty lines, strip HTML, sort lines alphabetically, and generate URL slugs.
  • Transliteration & Translation: Easily switch between Cyrillic and Latin alphabets, or translate text across multiple engines (Google, MyMemory, Lingva).
  • Voice & Audio: Built-in speech-to-text dictation and text-to-speech reading.
  • Pro Utilities: Base64 encoding/decoding and JSON formatting.

No forced registrations, no clutter—just open it and fix your text. It also includes multi-language support (English, Bulgarian, French, German).

I would love for you to test it out, try the tools, and let me know what you think or if you have suggestions for new features!

👉 Try it here:https://textfix-pro.vercel.app
