As the year wraps up: what’s the project you’re most proud of building and why?

Like the title says, instead of what you built or how much money it made, I’m curious what project you’re most proud of this year and why.

Could be a client site, a personal project, something that never launched, or something that made £0.

Any lessons learned?

Would love to read a few reflections as the year wraps up.

I miss seeing original ideas that aren’t just another AI wrapper.

If you’re building something in 2025 that’s not AI-related here’s your space to self-promote.

I sold a voice AI agent for 20K to my FIRST BIG CLIENT

I’m a developer at a super small company in my town plus I do some freelance voice AI work on the side and had built small bots and agents before but nothing at this scale. A friend who knows what I do referred me to an ecom company whose support line was getting messed up coz customers call in hindi, tamil and english and their current IVR just routes everything to humans who are overloaded and many many calls drop before anyone picks up and they were getting like 4 to 5k calls a month.

They did tell me two agencies had quoted them $40k to $60k and 3 4 months so when I quoted $20k and 8 weeks they were skeptical but my friend vouched and I did a live demo on a test number which got them convinced.

I built their setup on Gnani’s websocket streaming API for STT, it handles all 3 languages plus code switching on one stream so no separate models per language. TTS is also gnani, sounds natural enough on 8kHz that I didn’t need anything on top. Telephony runs through a sip provider, calls hit my server, audio streams to gnani STT in 100ms chunks, bot processes intent and pulls order status and shipping info from their CRM API in real time and IF intent confidence is below my threshold or the query is outside defined flows it does a warm transfer to a human with the full transcript attached.

their CRM had a decent REST API so integration wasn’t that hard but I spent 3 days just mapping their order status codes to natural language responses coz they had like 14 different statuses and many of them were the same thing. The actual Gnani integration took a day tho, most of the time was on the business logic around their specific workflows.

and on top of the initial $20k they pay $3k/month retainer and I priced it as such coz I figured 10 15 hours a month for maintenance and prompt updates and it’s not 3 4 hours of easy work like I expected coz new edge cases keep coming up that didn’t exist in testing like a customer asked about a return in tamil then gave some order details in English and the bot matched the wrong order coz my entity extraction was splitting on the language switch, took me a full weekend to fix that.

Their call drop rate went from 40% to under 10% and based on my logs about 65% of calls resolve without transferring to a human, they were going to hire 4 more support agents so from their side the investment made sense on day one and they didn't even negotiate.

I’m still at my job but thinking about whether to find more clients and turn this into a proper agency or keep it as one client and collect the retainer also not sure if I can manage more while working full time but the margins are really really good.

A basketball app that tracks your shooting, with just your phone

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made an android basketball app to track your shooting, with nothing but your phone.

Its still in early beta testing but it's pretty rich with features.
Accurate tracking of your makes/misses, shot locations, recorded sessions, montage video of all your makes, and more. Eventually there will be more social features to play with friends but just individual for now.

See the video (sped up 2x)

Also, currently only on android in closed testing. And i'm looking for android beta testers to give it a spin. It would be sweet if you could give it a try 🙏.

Here is the google form link - https://forms.gle/SrJPBd5CaeFYKeYH9

Fill it out and i'll send you the play store download link.😊

I built a free, simple audio editor for trimming and merging clips

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I kept running into audio editors that felt overkill for one simple task: trimming and merging clips on a visual timeline. So I built Waveform.

It runs in your browser, with no sign-up or uploads—your audio stays on your device.

You can trim, split, arrange, and mix clips, then export an MP3. Longer term, I’d like to turn it into a fuller editor with AI audio enhancers, but for now I’m focused on getting the basics right.

Try it: https://realaudioeditor.com/

Would love some honest feedback. What’s one simple audio-editing task you wish were easier?

You built it, you launched it… now how do you actually get users?

I recently launched my first app on iOS and Android, and now I’m realizing that building it was the easy part.
How did you get your first users without an audience or marketing budget?
What worked for you—social media, Reddit, ASO, paid ads, or something else? I’d also love to hear what didn’t work and wish you knew earlier?

buttons.mojitiles.com

A free, funny little social experiment. Pick any empty button, leave a message in it and choose a color. It stays forever. Tap any pressed button to read what a stranger left in it.

5 presses a day each. When all 1,000 are gone, the page is finished for good.

I'm 17, and I built an AI math tutor that refuses to give you the answer

I used to copy my math homework from ChatGPT and then fail the tests. You can't cheat your way through high school, so I built the opposite.

you type or snap a math problem with your work. It finds the exact line you got wrong and asks you one question about it. Hints get bigger only if you ask, but it never gives the final answer, even if you say, "My teacher said it's fine" (people try that a lot lol).

It's free to try right on the homepage, no account: theoremed.com

would love brutal feedback on the site and the first reply you get

Indie app founders who aren’t getting many downloads, how are you currently marketing your app?

• Upvotes

I’m interested in how smaller app founders approach marketing when they don’t have a dedicated team or a large advertising budget.

For those struggling to attract users, what does your current marketing routine actually look like?

Are you actively promoting your app everyday and trying different channels, or mostly relying on people discovering it?

And which part of the process has been the most difficult?

I rebuilt my portfolio as a Windows XP desktop, complete with a working Command Prompt

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m a 17-year-old software engineer from Tbilisi, and I got bored of portfolios that all look the same, so I turned mine into Windows XP.

  • Bliss wallpaper, a working Start menu, and a draggable “System Properties” window
  • A real Command Prompt: try whoami, projects or open github
  • Projects in Explorer-style Tiles / Details / List views
  • Even “Turn Off Computer” works

Built with Astro and hosted on GitHub Pages: https://sababurduli.dev

Feedback welcome

The sports API I was paying for went down, so I ended up building one

I’m working on updating my media app Surge Player, and the sports API I was paying for went down. I needed that data for the app, so that sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole.

My solution was apparently to give myself another project lol.

I built a small API on Cloudflare Workers that pulls together scores and schedules and returns them in a consistent JSON format. There’s a shared cache so every request doesn’t have to fetch everything again, plus API keys and rate limiting.

Getting the data into a consistent shape was a decent chunk of it. Different sports have different ways of representing game status, periods, scores, and missing fields. I wanted the code using it to stay pretty similar whether it was showing football or hockey.

I called it SportyApi. Just added a little scoreboard to the homepage that automatically finds games in progress, so there’s something to play with without making an account.

I also put together a starter repo on GitHub if you want to try building something with it. It runs with sample data out of the box, so you don’t need an API key to get started.

Still early, but now I have something I can use for Surge Player, and maybe it’ll be useful to someone else.

I rewrote wolfenstein 3D from scratch in python

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone, today I wanted to share a side project that I have been working for a couple of months: a wolfenstein 3D clone written in python, using pygame. The game itself uses a raycaster engine like the original, couldn't affor anything else with python anyways😄. It is not perfect and there are still many more stuff I want to do with this project but I wanted to share it anyhow! The code is here: https://github.com/atifcodesalot/pyWolf3D, you can play yourself by cloning the repo as well. AI was not used for the code, not even for debugging (which was a painful choice, but I really wanted to write it myself). Enjoy!

Lemon Squeezy

• Upvotes

I’ve applied to use Lemon Squeezy for a new project I’m looking to go live with as soon as possible, it’s dev complete but I’m now in a weird loop with someone from them where I’m being asked to give answers to questions that I’ve already answered at least twice.

“What’s your pricing”, “Can we have videos of the functionality”, “What are your socials?”.

I’ve answered all of these in the first email reply, is it just them slow rolling a “No, we can’t help you” or standard practice?

I made a site to find people to play online games with

I got tired of wanting to play something and not having anyone to queue with, so I built a little LFG app.

You can browse games, find lobbies by platform, region, and tags like “chill” or “mic required,” or host your own. There’s chat and optional voice once you join a lobby.

It’s still new, so there probably aren’t many lobbies yet. If you try it, I’d love to hear what’s confusing or broken: https://looking-for-group.vercel.app/

I launched Chrome Appearance Switcher on Product Hunt today — a 100% open-source tool to toggle Chrome's actual browser UI to Dark Mode with Alt+Shift+D

Hey everyone! 👋

I just launched Chrome Appearance Switcher on Product Hunt today, and I wanted to share the project with you all.

The Problem it Solves:

If you’ve ever tried toggling Chrome’s appearance, you probably noticed the Manifest V3 limitation: extensions can darken webpage contents, but none of them can change Chrome's actual browser frame (the tab strip, omnibox address bar, and toolbar) due to sandbox isolation. You usually have to dig into `chrome://settings/appearance` every time.

How it Works:

  1. When Chrome is set to "Device" appearance, it mirrors Windows OS theme signals.

  2. The extension uses Chrome's official Native Messaging API to dispatch `WM_SETTINGCHANGE` notifications in Windows.

  3. Chrome receives the event and repaints its active window frame instantly — zero browser restart needed.

  4. Includes a global keyboard shortcut (Alt + Shift + D) to toggle anytime from any tab.

The project is 100% free, MIT open-source, and collects zero telemetry or analytics.

🚀 Check it out and share your feedback:

* Product Hunt Launch: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/chrome-appearance-switcher

* Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/chrome-appearance-switche/giipkopljmnjmlkecknneemdkobcapnk

* GitHub Repository: https://github.com/tljafar/chrome-appearance-switcher

If you find this useful, I would really appreciate your feedback, questions, and support on Product Hunt today! 😻

I built a free, lightning-fast text editor with AI tools, file converters, and clean utilities (No ads/signup)

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I got tired of jumping between 5 different websites just to clean up text, strip spaces, convert Word/Markdown files, format JSON, or use AI to fix grammar and summarize content. So, I built TextFix Pro ([https://textfix-pro.vercel.app](https://textfix-pro.vercel.app)).

It's a completely free, web-based intelligent text assistant designed to make text processing instant and hassle-free.

What it can do:

  • AI Tools: Instantly summarize, fix grammar, expand, or simplify any text using Gemini AI.
  • File Support: Upload and extract text directly from .txt, .md, .json, and .docx files, and export back to Word or text.
  • Smart Cleaning & Formatting: Remove extra spaces, duplicate/empty lines, strip HTML, sort lines alphabetically, and generate URL slugs.
  • Transliteration & Translation: Easily switch between Cyrillic and Latin alphabets, or translate text across multiple engines (Google, MyMemory, Lingva).
  • Voice & Audio: Built-in speech-to-text dictation and text-to-speech reading.
  • Pro Utilities: Base64 encoding/decoding and JSON formatting.

No forced registrations, no clutter—just open it and fix your text. It also includes multi-language support (English, Bulgarian, French, German).

I would love for you to test it out, try the tools, and let me know what you think or if you have suggestions for new features!

👉 Try it here:https://textfix-pro.vercel.app

I've built a harness in the style of Instinct, Muse, Dots as a side project and just open sourced it

Hi Reddit,

TL;DR:

While looking for a harness to use at my company, I built the engine that I'm open-sourcing today under AGPL-3.0.

You can create AI assistants with long-term memory, many connectors (Google, Slack, Notion, etc) and a sandbox to run commands, all on your own server and with the models you choose.

A single installation can serve a family, a company or a community, with each user isolated in their own account.

The engine also works for assistants that serve the public over WhatsApp or other messaging interfaces.

This is my first open source project, and anyone who wants to try it, contribute, or just talk about it is very welcome.

The whole story:

I'm the technical founder of a startup that builds virtual try-on technology for makeup, skin analysis models and beauty product recommendations. Last year we started using AI assistants to create hyper-personalized journeys in beauty retail. This year, especially after the Open Claw craze in January/February, I (like many other founders) went crazy over the impact agents could have on my company.

I started looking for a harness that both our clients and our team could use safely. After experimenting with frameworks like Agno and LangChain to build something for my clients, and then with a few flavors of Claws to bring agents to my team, I decided to build a proprietary solution from scratch. I needed something that would bring assistants into the day-to-day of my operation, across every area of the business, supporting the clients, partners facing agents and, internally, the ones for my small team.

The first test version came out in August. I published it as a closed beta for friends and family.

Some people asked if they could bring more friends into the beta. I opened it up in September because I felt the platform was mature enough to take on some more people.

Today the site is live in open beta, with a small group of active users. I also managed to make the system secure enough to serve what our enterprise clients need, our agentic business solutions are now being built over this engine.

But what does this have to do with open-sourcing it?

I expected this kind of platform to play a big role in society. I was at NVIDIA GTC and heard Jensen say that CEOs should have a claw strategy. I understood that it could change how people go through many parts of their lives (including retail, which interests me in particular because of my startup). What I didn't expect was a movement this big, with so much money in such a short time and such a huge amount of users handing over their data. I watched the funding announcements: Town (35M), then Instinct (350M), then Instinct again (1B), while I was here running my humble tests.

Watching this huge movement, I thought about the amount of data and the power these companies will have by centralizing so much information. Today users tend to trade any data for convenience (I can say that because I'm seeing it with the service I put online with very few people). Responsibility for data security and privacy has to sit with whoever provides the service. So I talked to my co-founder and proposed offering a free alternative for small businesses, families or any groups of people: personal assistants, but with control over their own data.

That's why today I'm open-sourcing Brambit on GitHub, under the AGPL-3.0 license.

I chose AGPL precisely to make sure that, if this becomes something of value to society, it stays open source.

This is my first time putting something like this together.

I'm sure any devs who looks will find flaws, bugs and problems, and that's exactly why I'm sharing it.

I'm a developer with 25 years of experience, but I coded the whole repository by myself, alone with my AI assistants, mainly Claude through Nanoclaw agents and any help will be important, even to criticize.

There are many problems I still want to fix, from the monolith that the server is today until translations (I've being adding to the issues section of the repository) but I focused on everything security-related first to have this first public version.

If you relate to the idea, see some value in it and want to be part of it, will be more then welcome.
I've also created a Discord channel, which right now is me and two close friends.

Thanks for reading this far!

I built a Windows tray app that keeps Claude Code working when I close the laptop

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Close the lid. Claude Code keeps working. When it's done, the laptop sleeps.

I built Nightcrew, a free, open-source Windows tray app. It watches Claude Code or Codex and keeps the laptop working with the lid closed while an agent is busy. When the work ends, it puts your power settings back. No hooks, nothing to set up.

I built it with Claude Code, test-first, with a written spec and a fresh review pass for each version. One bug the hardware checks caught: a second start could take over from a copy that was still quitting.

Download (MIT, one 1.7 MB exe): https://github.com/leikauskas/nightcrew

Launch on X: original post

Windows 10 and 11 only. The exe isn't code-signed yet; each release includes a SHA-256, a GitHub build attestation and a VirusTotal report. If it misreads your setup (other agents, WSL, Docker), I'd like to hear about it.

Free, local-first planner for Linux, Android, Windows and macOS. No subscription, no paywall

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

What did you actually do last Tuesday?

If you have to think hard, or scroll through a pile of ticked-off tasks to find out, that's the problem I wanted to fix. Most planners are good at tomorrow. The moment you finish something, it disappears. You never find out whether that "2 hour" task really took 2 hours, whether this week was better than the last one, or whether the new routine you started is sticking.

I tried a lot of planners: Super Productivity, Vikunja, Planify, TickTick and a few more open source ones for Linux and Android. Some were really good. But none did what I wanted, and the ones that came close kept the useful parts behind a paywall. I wasn't going to pay a monthly fee just to plan my own day.

So I built my own. It took several months, and I use it every day. It's called Personal Planner, and it's built around one loop: plan the day, do the day, look back, learn from it.

What's in it, and why:

- **Day**: an hour-by-hour timeline. Drag a block to move it, pull the edge to resize. Clashing blocks get flagged instead of silently stacking. It also has week view, recurring activities, templates, categories, carry-forward for unfinished work, and undo/redo, because plans change about five times a day

- **Timers**: start, pause and stop from a task. When you finish, the minutes you really spent are saved next to the minutes you planned. My estimates started out very wrong

- **Review** (the part I care about most): daily, weekly and an overview. For anything you didn't finish you write why, in your own words. No dropdown, because "I got stuck on a bug for three hours" tells you more than "not enough time"

- **Consistency**: a year-long heatmap like GitHub's, plus current and best streak, so "have I been consistent?" gets an answer and not a feeling

- **Experiments**: want to try Learn C for an hour a day? Tag the blocks, set a start and end date and targets like 60 minutes on weekdays and 90 on weekends. Every completed block with that tag updates it, so there's nothing extra to log

- **Inbox**: for ideas without a day yet. Give one dated sessions and each becomes a timed task on Day, so "research SAP" at 45 minutes across five days is five blocks. Missed ones land in a Left over backlog, not nowhere

It's free, with no subscription and no locked features. It's local-first, so it works offline and sync between devices is optional. Runs on Linux, Android, Windows and macOS.

The honest bits: the Windows and macOS builds are unsigned, so expect a SmartScreen or Gatekeeper warning. I don't own a Mac, so macOS has only been tested on GitHub Actions. Reminders and timer notifications work on Linux and Android only for now.

Code: https://github.com/Karthikshabari/PersonalPlanner

Dev here. Do you ever look back on your week before planning the next one, or do you just move on?

I built an offline-first app to remember birthdays, gift history, and shared moments without selling my data to the cloud.

Modern contact apps are good at storing phone numbers and email addresses, but they don’t help you remember the little things that make people.

Life moves fast, and small details can slip away: how someone takes their coffee, a gift they mentioned months ago, or a milestone coming up. I built KeepMemo as a private, offline-first place to keep those memories.

What it does

  • 🎂 Remember important dates: Track birthdays and custom anniversaries with flexible reminders.
  • 🎁 Keep track of gifts: Log gifts given and received so you can remember what mattered.
  • 📸 Save rich memories: Keep photos, video clips, voice notes, and stories connected to a person.
  • ⏳ Revisit the past: On This Day brings back memories each morning at 9.
  • 🔒 Private by default: Your data stays on your phone unless you choose to export a backup or enable Google Drive sync. No account is required to use KeepMemo.
  • 🗂️ Back up or move devices: You can save an export somewhere safe or enable optional Drive sync, then restore your backup on a new device. Without an export or Drive backup, your data remains only on your phone.

It also includes private journaling, future self-capsules, check-in reminders, a breathing mode, and a card creator for making shareable graphics from photos.

I made it because I wanted something personal and intentional, rather than another ad-driven social app or business CRM.

If you’re interested in local-first, privacy-focused projects, I’d love for you to try it and tell me what could be better.

Play Store: KeepMemo
