Sale/Discount Simucube 2 pro - is it still a relevant buy today?
ASR has it on sale for 25% off. For those who have it, or those looking for a higher end wheel base, do you think it is still a relevant buy in 2026 given it was released back 2019 (I believe).
The other I was looking at is the vnm elite/supreme. But I'm a sucker for discounts. What are your thoughts? Not interested in other wheelbases at the moment. Simucube/VNM are the only two I would consider upgrading to.

Yes it is, it's one of the top bases even after all these years. I bought one last year, love it.

Had the SC2 Pro, moved to a VNM Extreme and would recommend a Supreme to anyone who likes more detail in their FFB. I only use iRacing but the front tires have so much more information with the VNM in that sim. It’s somewhat subjective and depends on how you like your FFB presented…raw detail or more polish. I like the raw, so VNM is better for me.

Can you provide more clarity on the ffb difference you notice going from the sc2 pro to vnm? I know vnm is telemetry based but without experiencing, it hard to understand what to expect.

VNM has both regular Direct Input (like the SC2 or any other direct drive base) and Telemetry FFB. You can choose how much you want of each in a ratio. 100%/0% or 50/50 or 73/27…literally TIC mode is a slider so you can choose what you like. Personally I only use 10% Telemetry and that’s limited to Road Texture, but my opinions are based on when I first switched to the VNM and was using only Direct Input…no Telemetry FFB at all.
For me and in iRacing (3-3.5k iR) over time I found that I was wanting more feel from the front tires in particular with the SC2 Pro. I started using MAIRA and that helped for sure, but still wasn’t as definitive as I was hoping for…still too filtered and slightly numb/vague. When I switched to the VNM, it was right before the Nurbs 24, so that’s where I was practicing…did some laps still with the SC2, then ripped it out and installed the VNM to be as back to back as I could be. Took a few minutes to get the little bit of Damping and Friction tuned to where I wanted it, but immediately went back to turning laps on the Nords. It wasn’t even half a lap in when I noticed how much more connected the front tires felt to the wheel. I knew EXACTLY where they were in space now, no more ‘kinda’ or ‘-ish’ to it…it was revelatory. I continued on for an hour or so and was honestly stunned to the point where I was convinced I was experiencing confirmation bias/placebo effect. New base…MUST feel better so my brain makes it feel better, right? But where I realized it was real was when I went and tried the Race setup for the BMW we were going enter in the N24 instead of the Safe setup. I CAN drive a Race setup and usually do for shorter races, but for Enduros we usually choose Safe sets to give our “3AM brain” some assistance. So I’m turning laps with the Race set and it’s just…easy…I know what the fronts are doing so it’s much easier to feel the rear too, and catch it when needed. The Race set felt like a Safe set to me…I was more consistent with less effort. That’s what I was looking for and could never find with the SC2. It’s just very direct, very raw, very detailed FFB. I have been a fan-boy ever since.
It is very subjective though if it’s ’better’ FFB than the SC2 Pro… the SC2 is smoother and more polished if that’s what you like…more filtered even with everything turned to a minimum. The VNM is more in your face and…raw. It takes more initial effort to get setup and dialed in…a very young software interface still, even if much improved vs the mature SC Tuner. For me, it’s worth the switch and a Supreme is my overall VNM recommendation. Great Discord community, great little company that’s super responsive. Sorry for the wall of text, but hope that helps.

Thank you for that comprehensive feedback! Exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated 👍

Still one of the best from a pure force feedback performance/quality perspective. Really the only way it lags behind newer bases is in terms of wheel connectivity which is to say, it doesn't have any. But that's not really a huge deal. As long as you're not bothered by that, it's a solid base.
(I have one and have no plans to upgrade for a very long time)

Never had a simucube, but I have a vnm elite and love it, upgraded from a fanatec csl dd 8nm
Can't imagine the simucube being a bad buy. It's one of the best wheelbases for years

It's still good, but like... even at 25% it's still pretty expensive, and personally I'd rather drop the extra few hundred on the 3 Pro and get something that'll have more support for a longer while. (But Simucube is pretty good about supporting previous products, and has released stuff for the Simucube 1 even in the last few years.)
That said, if you get a bigger discount -- like Micro Center selling the 2 Sport for $699 recently as they closed it out -- I wouldn't hesitate to jump on that.

I had a chance to directly compare the sc3 and simagic evo ultra.
Simucube is NOT worth the difference in price.
They are SO close to the same thing, the only really difference is the telemetry based FFB effects. And I decided to forgot that to save myself $1k. Use that 1k to go buy 4 buttkickers/ base shaker's.
