Conversation Topic Returning to Singing
I am a rock singer with training that had to take a seven month break from singing. I developed a vocal granuloma from poor health and habits. I can feel my voice is in a healthy place. In my almost seven months of singing, I have worried constantly about what it will be like to come back. Has anyone had any experience with returning after a long and miserable break like this? Any advice on returning to singing at 100%?

Drink lots of water every day.
Work with a vocal coach from 4 months ago but better late than never.
Build up the work load.
5 minutes a day to begin with.
Work with a coach.
Leave the ego at the door & be prepared to start from the beginning with Rock techniques. Especially if you like distorted or gritty rock sounds
Not sure if I mentioned it
Work with a coach. 😉
In person or online. Once a week if you can afford.
I’m in the UK if you’re here too, I don’t work with international students.

I cannot afford a vocal coach. I'm a broke college student in the US. I was thinking of just restarting with my fundamentals and basic SOVT exercises and slowly building back up. Studied Bel Canto for a year and half when I was in my teens, so my goal is to get back there in a few months.
