Discussion Flanderization in slashers

I find Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street and the return characters from Return to Sleepaway camp to be totally Flanderized . For one, Freddy became more of a comedic villain rather than a frighten man that would come to the kid’s dream, and it only got worse in the reboot as he done some terrible things to the kids, which is gross. And in Return, Ronnie became a stereotypical counselor who‘s very passive and lets Angela kill the campers, and not to mentioned that he yelled at a counselor for no reason, making him unlikable. Angela became a filler that treats Alan as a pet and only appears at the end of the end of the movie as nostalgia bait. Paul is just there, I don’t know what to say about him.

You know what, I hate Return, everyone’s unlikable, the CGI is ass, and the director ruined his own series.

Angela in Return isn't the Angela from the other movies, she's the original Angela who was thought to have died at the start of the first film.
