Discussion My fav underrated sequels

Sequels can be hit or miss, but I tend to like sequels more than not and don't have many I hate or don't find some enjoyment in. I definitely notice there are some that I really like that I don't see get much recognition compared to the others or have pretty mixed or negative reviews, so I thought I'd drop some sequels I like and think are underrated. This was just for fun, and it's great if you agree or disagree. Do you also like any of these sequels, or have any other slasher sequels that people rarely talk about or trash you actually like?

Nightmare on Elm Street 5 is the real underrated sequel. It seems everybody loves to hate that movie.

I agree, part 5 over either of the ones sandwiched around it.

Prom Night 2 is awesome. Personally, I like it over the original. Apples and oranges since they're completely different, but it's a great movie

The first ten minutes with the confessional scene and where Mary Lou gets set on fire is so good.

WAY better than the original! That horse tongue is so creepy

1978 is probably the best standalone of the Fear Street Trilogy but that whole 3 parter is pretty awesome. Feels like 1 long season.

This is my wife's favorite nightmare movie. Alice is a very underrated final girl

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning is a blast. It's not perfect but there's much worse in that franchise.

Nightmare 4 is underrated but also too gross at times. Same goes for part 5.

These are all enjoyable in their own way.

Nightmare 4 is my favorite horror movie of all time. Not saying it's the best. It's my favorite. And it's very underrated

I honestly think that MaXXXine gets a lot of hate just because pearl and x were before it. MaXXXine is still a good movie imo

I mean, that's just naturally going to happen. I liked Maxxxine, but i'd say it's the weakest of the trilogy for sure

New blood is fine, I wouldnt say underrated sequel. I think jason X is the peak of horror sequels in it being bad good, I can be convinced its just good, but when it first came out didn't people hate it especially critics?

I'm pretty sure Fear Street 1978 and Prom Night II are widely regarded as the best films in those franchises.

Strangers Prey at Night's only redeeming factor was Christina Hendricks beautiful self.

Otherwise, that is one of the most frustrating movies I've watched in my whole entire life
