2016 election interference I totally forgot about this
https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/computer-scientists-urge-clinton-campaign-to-call-for-recount/All the calls for recounts in 2016 because of almost impossible statistical anomalies with digital voting machines only. Right after the call to Russia for them to do it.
I have felt it is likely what we're seeing right now going on with Russia and Ukraine was so they will do this again for the midterms. Gifts must be given in advance this time.
I wonder if the midterms will have similar statistical anomalies.
Side note, I stumbled upon this again while looking for Trump 2015 campaign ads, seems like 99% of them have been scrubbed from the internet

Right. Trump cheated in every election. He only lost in 2020 because of Covid mail in ballots. That's why he hates them. He doesn't have a good way to cheat mail in.

Not just Trump—republicans at large.
Brian Kemp fucking stole the governorship from Stacey Abrams, and nobody batted an eye when servers and backups were destructively wiped (not something that happens accidentally) AFTER being subpoenaed.
ETA: I was an IT professional and flipped my shit when I learned about what had been done, because I knew very well what sort of deliberate effort it takes to thoroughly and destructively erase data in an environment like that. The rot goes deeper than even most of us here are aware of.

Exactly. trump lost all three elections but was able to steal both the 2016 and 2024 ones.
I went back to Michigan for the hand recount. We barely got started, then after two plus days of recounting, trump was able to shut it all down.
The recount was weird. I saw anomalies in the five precincts I witnessed but I’ve been told they are normal errors. But trump’s vote count increased in four of them while everyone else’s stayed the same. The fifth precinct we couldn’t do a recount because the number of ballots listed on the outside of the ballot box was different than the number of ballots inside.

And they didn't do the recount then either.
Interesting that Marc Elias was Clinton's general counsel at the time and must have advised her against it, the same as he advised Kamala Harris against it after the Nov. 2024 election.

Almost makes one think the Democrats should do a deep, deep dive into Marc Elias’ background, affiliations & people he’s associated with & their backgrounds and affiliations.

I would hate to think he's compromised in any way, he's actually a beast in the courts fighting against all of these voter suppression laws. He's almost singlehandedly been saving Democracy for a while now.

Did you want the Electoral College vote to be recounted? Clinton WON the popular vote.

The lack of a willingness to fight amongst the Democrats is infuriating

And don’t forget Katherine Harris throwing the election to Bush when Gore won.

My conspiracy theory is that the campaign blitz he is on right now is a distraction while some of his team goes in and messes with the voting systems in these towns. He is overloading these Small Town police forces dealing with him while his team operates. Again, total conspiracy theory

And the same person who told Kamala Harris there was “nothing actionable” she could do to challenge the election, also told Hillary she could not challenge 2016.

How was she supposed to challenge the Electoral College vote? She won the popular vote by about 3 million.

You should read the Mueller report and check out Its Up To Us Substack. All your answers about 2016 are there.

I’ve never quite understood why the Democratic Party is so quick to concede. After years of relentless campaigning and organizing, why capitulate so hastily? In the U.S., election night feels unnecessarily rushed. I’d much rather wait several days for a complete, verified count than sacrifice thoroughness for immediate satisfaction.

After the election Kamala got quiet. When we needed our leaders more than ever. I don't like that.

This is interesting
“Because we had not uncovered any actionable evidence of hacking or outside attempts to alter the voting technology, we had not planned to exercise this option ourselves, but now that a recount has been initiated in Wisconsin, we intend to participate in order to ensure the process proceeds in a manner that is fair to all sides,” Marc Elias, Clinton’s general counsel, wrote Saturday on Medium.
Trump delivered a measured response — measured by his standards — attacking Stein directly but refraining from criticizing Clinton.
“This recount is just a way for Jill Stein, who received less than one percent of the vote overall and wasn’t even on the ballot in many states, to fill her coffers with money, most of which she will never even spend on this ridiculous recount,” Trump said in a statement released by his transition team. “This is a scam by the Green Party for an election that has already been conceded, and the results of this election should be respected instead of being challenged and abused, which is exactly what Jill Stein is doing.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_United_States_presidential_election_recounts
Wisconsin's recount was completed and its results certified early on December 12, well before the state-imposed 8:00pm deadline that same day. Clinton increased her vote total in the state by 713 votes, while Trump increased his by 844, widening his lead by 131 votes over the original November 8 count and reaffirming his victory there. Wisconsin Elections Commission Chairman Mark Thomsen stated that the recount had uncovered no evidence that any of the state's voting machines had been hacked or otherwise tampered with.

What a terribly uninformative headline, especially given this sub's mission statement.
